SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

In the beginning of each print issue it says that some imprisoned souls managed to escape and miraculously become alive once again, in a bid to set things right.

Maybe Kuai becomes human again as a result of that.

And he could have made him more human-like later. He is literally a ghost, I think his physical form is pretty malleable.

Of all the retcons MK fans have lived through, being asked to pretend that MK9 wraith Sub-Zero looked like a human instead of a robot doesn't really seem so bad. You're gonna be disappointed if you're really hoping for that explanation.

MKX Bi Han Sub-Zero has not been ruled out.

So Cassie kills Mavado? I was hopping either Kano or Erron Black would kill him. Funny how he nearly killed Kabal and Kenshi in the original timeline while he dies from a 15 year old in the new timeline :P.

Kano was a split second away from delivering the killing blow. Only thing that got in the way was the horde of Red Dragon flunkies.

Now look at Raiden's description (of that images, like the one with Johnny Cage):

Raiden is the God of Thunder and the Protector of EarthRealm. Millennia ago he and the Elder Gods defeated Shinnok, who sought dominion over the realms. More recently, Raiden thwarted Outworld's attempts to conquer and merge with EarthRealm. However victory came at great cost. Many of Raiden's closest allies were killed in the battle. Raiden's strength was further tested when an escaped Shinnok’s NetherRealm armies attacked an EarthRealm weakened by war. Ultimately Raiden imprisoned Shinnok again--this time in Shinnok's own Amulet.

It's obvious Raiden is still trying to change things. He trapped Shinnok inside the Amulet now because he knew he couldn't repeat the mistake of sending him to the Netherrealm again. Nice thinking (probably).

Shinnok, without a dobut, someone to be beaten. Maybe THE one to be beaten. We shall see, that's another line of thinking.
 
It´s really a shame Mavado was killed, I wanted him to be in MKX... (Yes I know it was impossible, but still wanted that)
I´m really really sad for Havik, I thought he was the post mk4 char with the bigger chances (but Maybe Li Mei would be the only one).
Even if some of you still don´t believe it, the costumes are everything for confirming or deconfirming a char....
I mean, your argument of Subby wearing a past costume is dead now, (It´s his new alternate) and Kano´s now wearing his MKX costume.... Mileena is wearing her new comic costume, Jhony too... and they´ve gotten a proper confirmation today....
SO, neither Fujin, Mavado, Hsu Hao, Reiko nor Havik are in MKX..... (even if we have the last hope in the DLC), but yeah, it´s kinda sad..... (and this totally confirms Sonya!!!)

Yes, but my theory was right.... I said they were wearing their MK9 costumes because of the timeline.... I mean, Kano had his old attire due the moment of the story they were telling... but I said: when they were to be shown in the present they would have their MKX suits, and I was right....

Quan Chi was using that suit like many many years ago, and it´s obvious they won´t use his new one for that scene...
The same with Kenshi, he was portrayed a few years after MK9, so I don´t see the need of showing his new suit...
I´m sure if Quan or Kenshi were to be shown in the present they would be using their new attires!!!!
If you keep believing it´s not right is your problem, but I think is more clear than water!!! All the characters which were shown IN THE PRESENT with their old attires were badly injured or killed....

OK, I got a chance to read most of the comic, here's my thoughts:

-We're about to get a brand new Mortal Kombat tournament, fellas! This will actually be the first tournament that isn't MK1 or MK2 or the MK9 version of MK1 or MK2. Think about it. Those two tournaments have always been the only ones in the canon. This is damn exciting!

-Speaking of the tournament, Reiko's side seems hopelessly outmatched. Johnny Cage, Sonya, Kotal Kahn, D'Vorah, and Reptile vs. Reiko and Havik? And possibly Kano? Yikes. Is there anyone left who could potentially show up on Reiko's side who hasn't yet? Maybe Kintaro?

-Reiko's donezo. I love the guy, and he still has a chance as DLC after Kittelsen raises fan demand with this next arc, but I'll be surprised if he survives the next couple of issues. Now, we know he's going to kick a lot of ass first, Kittelsen has said as much. Awesome. But this is 10 years before the events of the game, and in the game Kotal's still in charge, Mileena leads the rebellion, and Reiko... doesn't do any of those things. And we now know that his goal is to be in power. And this tournament exists to further that goal along. So obviously something somewhere didn't go according to plan. (read: this tournament)

-RIP Mavado, you will not be missed. The Red Dragon is down to just Daegon now. Not looking so hot for Daegon's chances to be a big deal in MKX, is it? :)

-Can we talk for a minute about how Scorpion just beat the shit out of Raiden? You know I'll be rubbing that in the faces of everyone who voted 10-0 Raiden in my MKX Match-up thread! ...if I ever get around... to updating it... :flute:

-Speaking of Scorpion... Scorpion is about to go rescue Sub-Zero. Fun times we live in!

All in all, great stuff. This comic is the bomb and so is MKX.

But Fujin outfit was destroyed by Raiden, so that has to count for something... Right??

At the time kenshi was shown Scorpion had his mkx custom. Rain had his mk9 but in the story he has a new custom. i 99% believe in what you are saying but i leave 1% for hope.
 
You know I hope that at some point, whether it be this game or the next, that we get some new Red Dragon characters, both to flesh out their clan, and to help out their pretty sparse faction, I mean Daegon is pretty lonely now, (If he doesn't die in the comic too)
 
Maybe they'll revive the original concept of Darrius being a Red Dragon agent. If Daegon is sticking around for a while yet, that will get kind of boring if it's just him and the generics. (not that the Red Dragon were very thrilling beforehand...)

Perhaps the tubby Red Dragon merc from the first issue will be promoted to second-in-command?

Well, let's focus on making one Dragon faction relevant first, then if we succeed, we can get to the second. ;)
