I think as long as it fits from a story standpoint I'm ok with it.
Kitana: an assassin has to dress lightly but can still wear clothes, so there is no reason for her to run around half naked.
Jade: as an assassin/bodyguard she needs to wear something that could stop a sword.
Mileena: it kinda makes sense if you take into account a previous post that points out how SHAO Kahn is a womaniser and if she's supposed to be the "perfect" kitana. With SHAO Kahn dead and her whole rebel leader thing, it makes sense she would wear more battle ready clothes but due to her past she would have at least slightly more revealing outfits than kitana.
Skarlet: it makes complete sense and even benefits her as she absorbs blood to become more powerful.
Sindel: as the queen she should dress like her mkx counterpart, at least given the whole "fight to the death idea" she needs to be combat ready.
Sf girls: this one is stupid as special forces kinda needs armour even more than the others because they're only humans with no special abilities at all.
Frost: is a Lin kuei and does wear a bit of armour. She may be high ranking in the clan as she wears similar armour to sub zero, which is completely different from the super armoured generic members and sub zero knows her name and I don't think he's one of those super friendly bosses.
Tanya:'s is justified as she does flips and cartwheels and other acrobatic things constantly and still wears a decent amount, at least compared to other edenians, and her random white eyes that have no point in the story (at least the new story as she was a disciple of shinnok in the original timeline) means she may be a super edinian.
Li mei: is just a normal person from what we know in the new timeline and is dressed in villager attire.
Sareena: is a demon who wants to look pretty. Simples.
Sheeva: shokan barely wear anything apparently but i suppose it might be ok considering the shoot and breath fire it makes sense they would evolve to have though skin.
Khameleon: I have no clue, they are supposed to be Saturnian but look nothing like reptile. Given regeneration and scales it is semi justified.
Nitara: scantly clad vampire. Could be immortal.
Ashara: is the same as sareena, a demon.
Kira: is a mercenary and may be wearing Kevlar but still it's not much.

Loving all the mock outrage over some skimpy outfits in a video game that consists of maiming and killing as its signature. Head rips? no problem! Side boobs! Gasp! good lord nooooo! Won't somebody please think about the children!

Eh, who's outraged? I think everyone here is okay about costumes. Some just don't want it to be overly ridiculous like how some games were.

That's not a bad thing to ask now, is it?

I don't want skimpy outfits because I want people to take the game seriously and I'm not a fan of over the top fan service. I can never take DOA seriously given how fan servicey that series is. I stop playing DOA after DOA3.

Agreed, Kitty.
No one is outraged, but that's how it is these days with the stupid Interwebz.
Don't agree with someone on something? You must be outraged, crying or whining.
Fail.
I wonder people jump to such irrational and moronic conclusions sometimes.

You see?
Today's culture has accepted 2 huge lies.
The first lie is that if you disagree with someone's opinion on something, you must either hate or fear that opposing opinion.
The second lie is that to be in good standing with someone you have to agree with everything that they believe or do.
Both are bullshit nonsense.
I can disagree on something without having to compromise my convictions.

I don't get why it's always about outfits that someone makes that stupid claim about whiners and complainers if someone says, "Ya know, I kinda want these characters to have better looking outfits." If you want to act like that, go sign up to MKO's site, since they love to hate you if you think differently than them.

Some people here would like to see females not be in outfits that are just either too skimpy or too ridiculous. My view is just that I'd like for them to look like what they represent. Sonya should look more militarized, any assassin should look like an assassin. And yeah, what BBBLP brought up made total sense. Kahn made all of the females wear outfits that totally sexualized them, but in my opinion, as a concept artist, they could have given them better looks.

Especially with Kitana since both her primary and secondary looked almost identical. They had some pretty nice concepts in their itty-bitty art book that they could have used.

As a caveman, I really don't want skimpy outfits to go away completely.
Give them dignified primary costumes, but for the alts, show off that pixelated ass you took so long to model

I like decisions that gives both parties what they want. Deadly Alliance did that, sure some costumes were weird (like Frost's) but hey, one showed off less while the other showed more.

I liked the art concepts for MK9 better than what we actually got in regards to costumes.

I couldn't agree more. Have one sexy outfit and one serious outfit for the lady kombatants, everybody goes home happy.

I think more diverse body shapes for BOTH males and females should be considered for MK11 as well, for immersion's sake.

Oh they most definitely tried too hard with 2011 and their costumes. What they got in the end was neither sexy nor appealing to look at. However, real life modelers and cosplayers made the costumes look okay, but they were still goofy.

The only decent looking female character in that game was Sindel. Her outfit was not half bad, neither was her secondary.

I swear when they were designing Sindel they were like " lets just put a purple V on her. NEXT". I thought Sonya had the least bad female design in mk9.

Sf girls: this one is stupid as special forces kinda needs armour even more than the others because they're only humans with no special abilities at all.

This makes no sense, since the Edenian/Outworld girls are only different to humans when it comes to life expectancy, they die by a bullet or a sword just like any human character from Earthrealm.

Because ever since Kitana was a playable character in MK games. The Princess of Edenia has always worn revealing attire to combat. Unlike the the other female in MKX. I felt Kitana's default costume did not suit her character. Kitana's tournament costume felt was more true to her battle attire. I just feel Kitana should have a loose yet elegant outfits. Nothing that conceal too much of her body. Also none of the special force females should ever wear revealing clothing. Considering their occupation it doesn't make sense. While I enjoyed the hell out of Sonya in MK9. I found her attire to be highly ridiculous . Kitana is the only MK fighter besides Nitara and Jade that should wear loose clothing.

the only reason her outfit doesnt come off as "revelealing" is because she's wearing *gasp* a bra and panties. Without those you have.

^ Deadly Alliance Kitana and Kitana's scrap design from Deception says hello. No one has to agree with my opinion on Kitana's clothing style. I just feel the revealing assassin outfit always suits her. I do not care for her default MKX costume. Both her tournament and revenant design suits her more imo.

You can count with one hand the number of females that werent dressed as strippers until MKX and still have free fingers, so it's less "the princess of edenia" and more "MK females"

For that matter, those females were Ashrah and Frost. Unless you count the sideboob, then it's just Ashrah

You're absolutely right, but I'm sole referring to Kitana. Maybe everyone else feels differently, but I would like Kitana in something loose in the next MK game

Kitana's main outfit is the best female outfit to ever appear in an MK game, and I dare to say in any fighting game ever, it's just perfect.
