Revealing Female Outfits in MK11?

Do you want the 3 female ninjas to go back to wearing skimpy outfits?

I like the female characters looking like actual warriors. MK9 made it hard for me to enjoy playing those female ninjas. In MKX they were perfect. Look at Kitana. Deadly warrior that can be taken seriously yet still sexy. Maybe a third costume they can be a little outlandishly dressed.

I know that, but my point is:
Were any of these DOA "Tournaments" as big as MK9, Injustice, MKX, Street Fighter or Smash Brothers?
Nope.
A combination of MK9, Injustice and MKX put MK back on the map, and last I checked, 2 of those 3 games (Injustice and MKX) had female characters with less revealing outfits.
It appears that after MK9, NRS started taking themselves more seriously and ditched the skimpy outfits to take on a more serious and darker tone, and MKX is better for it.

One of Street Fighter's most popular characters is Cammy, who has a leotard riding up her ass. I'm just pointing out that skimpy outfits don't affect popularity of the game.

One of the reasons I was never interested in using female characters was their outfits, they were sexist, embarrassing and unnecessary, it seems that they were designed by horny virgin teenagers, I'm totally against that image and representation of a woman.

Now in MKX I main Mileena and I love her new style and outfits.

Costumes should make sense to the character. What Mileena has on for X worked perfectly. There's no need to go all out and beyond for a female costume. I would like for them to have their females stay this way from now on.

Secondary costumes can bear more skin, I don't care. But 2011's costumes were hysterically embarrassing. I don't want them to go down that route again.

From MK9 the only female i liked is Jade and Sindel. Kitana and Mileena outfits were both terrible. Loved all female clothes on MKX, especially Kitana. But they made all of the wearing pants, it's like 8 or 80.

Either it should be ZERO slutty costumes or ZERO MK at all. This is not a strip club like DOA is.

Sure, but that's only 1 character.
I've long ago accepted that Mileena is the promiscuous looking character.
Even then, though, her costume made WAY more sense in MKX than it ever did in MK9, given that she was a leader and Empress and went into battle as a warrior.

Yes.
Exactly.
Thank you.

Mileena is the foremost slut of Mortal Kombat (how much of a slut she is is a topic for another debate), and if HER attire got toned down, then obviously that speaks volumes on the future of slutty outfits for MK.

Honestly, calling Kitana and Mileea's costumes battle-ready is really stretching unless you guys honestly think boobplates and high heels are okay....

Reminds me of a random blog post I came across complaining concerning costumes of KOFXI2/13 characters. Somehow the author came to the conclusion that Mature's was more practical for fighting than Leona's just because the former was more covered up. *facepalm*

People are dressed to fight until death, not to pose to horny people.

MK9 costumes for females makes no sense (yes sense, I know there is a guy who freezes, but that makes sense within the story).

Maybe Sindel's was the less absurd (notice they repeated her outfit).

MKX females are balanced, detailed, more realistic (yes, realism, on proportions), look real women (despite the teeth of some), dressed in outfits that combine with the character and unique.

As Kitty said, 2011's outifts were embrassing, unnecessary sexual appeal that made the look of a fantasy hentai destined to lone "gunmen". MKX does have sexy women, if you are looking at their polygons.

I'm no conservative, but those outfits are pretty BS, MKX did many things for the good of consistency, and one of them was setting their females in a balanced way.

As far as I'm concerned, I was only speaking of Mileena's MKX costume, since she is always being brought up when the topic of costumes comes up.
Boobplates in MKX does seem to be the equivalent of a sports bra, which is WAAAAAY more practical than fighting in a g-string (not practical) or in a toilet paper costume (not practical) as Mileena was.
Mileena's armor attire is way more appropriate for the situation at hand, yes.
As for shoes, I never disagreed with saying that those are practical in a fight, but for the most part Jaqui, Sonya and Cassie fight in combat boots, which makes sense for people in the special forces.

Boobplates are not sports bras. What Kitana has on is neither going to protect nor support her breasts, she might as well not have it at all.

Huh?
I never mentioned Kitana, though.
I mentioned Mileena's armor and outfit, which YES, sure as hell DOES look like it would support like a sports bra, as well as the arm guards and shin guards which add protection.
As I said before, Mileena's MKX costume does have the appropriate support and provide protection and fit her for the role that she's in, unlike in MK9.

Both characters appear in the same game and universe. It may be an "improvement", but both of them still sport costumes that are ridiculous in their own way. It's disingenuous to try to isolate them in a vacuum.

It seems most people who argue about functional designs do not actually care for it, rather use the argument to leverage their agenda against sexualized female costume designs.

You could say Mileena and Kitana's abilities depend on elasticity and agile movements therefore they can't use heavy armor so they use light and comfy armor like we see in MKX. There you have an explanation but to be honest you should stop being so "logical" about a ficticious world full of people that throw random shit from their hands at each other.

They are less revealing because they look better and because NRS realized they don't have the necessity to aim the game at horny loners.

Even light armor would cover much of the torso, which isn't the case for Kitana or Mileena. I am well aware of the of the supernatural in the MK, and I always approach the series with a suspension of disbelief. I'm am willing to ignore or even like ridiculous desings, I just hate people pretending to that it's "practical" armor when it is not.

Again, most of these people harping about sensible designs don't actually care for it, it's just an bad excuse to push less or non-sexual designs.

Agreed.
Mileena uses light armor, which is still feasible, but not ridiculous, like her MK9 costume was.
Her MK9 costume served no purpose, other than to give boners to people that fap at pixels on the screen.
At least in MKX Mileena's default looks more like something that a warrior going into battle would wear, while at the same not being AS heavy or clunky as what a non-spurnatural human warrior would wear.

That 2nd sentence is spot on, as well.

Huh?
Mileena's MKX light armor and costume does cover much of her skin and torso, as well as Kitana's.
Functionality for Kitana's is a different story, but I never disagreed with Kitana's.

Uh, I gave perfect examples with Jacqui, Cassie and Sonya of how the combat boots are more sensible designs for military women and DO have functionality to them, and how fighting in high heels is dumb.

There are obvious gaps on the stomach and chest. The side and back of her torso are almost completely exposed.

I admit the Special Forces characters are actually okay for the most part. Kitana and Mileena's costume are still ridiculous though and inconsistent with the other characters.
