MORTAL KOMBAT X general discussion

The way I want it implemented wouldn't break away from the feel of the game. But again, clearly you can't get passed something that happened ten years ago.

All this talk of the Outworld civil war and the odds being stacked against Kotal Kahn make me wonder if one can truly call him "evil." It almost sounds like he is a hero, considering how many historically "villainous" characters are gunning for him, mainly Mileena and Goro. If NRS intends for him to be the big bad, they may inadvertently turn him face by having him come through in the clutch and triumph over all obstacles. Would be pretty hard to not like the last man standing after an epic battle like the one we're all expecting...especially if it is pretty much a handicap match with all of them teaming up against Kotal. After suffering "an unimaginable loss" and still managing to win it all, Kotal will officially be THAT DUDE.

I think humor is fine in MK. MK is known for having dark comedy in the game. I find MKDA to be one of the darkest MK games since it's the first MK game to kill off most of the main heroes and have the bad guys win for once. Not to mention some of the arenas have a dark chilling atmosphere going for them and some of the endings were pretty grim too. MKD had a dark tone for it but at least it had the good guys winning again. Both those games had some over the top stuff despite being dark.

Kotal Kahn shall be the only Emperor! In Kotal we trust!

The potty jokes literally ruined the character. It's what people think about when Bo' Rai Cho is brought up. Saw a few youtube videos earlier today of people playing the 3D games and every time Bo' Rai Cho was on screen, they groaned.

NRS is better off keeping him on the sidelines.

Completely agree with this and revamp or not, I don't want a character who vomits or farts. It's just a stupid gimmick. I'll leave it at that.

I still think he is evil. Remember the Raiden variations trailer with Boons commentary.

If its Ermac, I wonder if he'll be Neutral or Good this time.

I never liked Ermac as evil. He developed more as a Neutral/Good guy. Plus, Deception is what sold me on Ermac.

On the unchanged timeline, evil Ermac achieved nothing.

"Good" Ermac was probably, maybe along with Sub-Zero, one of the most evoluted characters, who achieved unmeasurable progress.

He found peace among all of his souls, helped Kenshi, Liu Kang and everybody under Onaga's control.

I like to just say with the Ermac reveal was great,
But what i really enjoyed was the New Select Screen. Choose your character and they do like a lil taunt walk off. Small but very effective as far as presentation goes!

Ermac has Shao Khans soul at least so far as we know. In Nightwolf & Cyborg Sub-Zeros endings, Shao Khan transfers his soul into them or Nightwolfs wolf. Ermac has control over many souls, which in my mind makes him strong willed. Yet could we see Khans soul possibly take control, I just don't think he is gone that easy for them to add this line. Khan never died canon wise in the last games, he lost in 2, lost and fled in 3, decoy killed in 5, and wins Armageddon, he is a strong persist SOB.

The way Ermac talked and some stuff characters said to him makes it sound like Shao definitely has some influence over him. He still seems to be his own guy at the same time, though.

If not part of story it could make for a cool cameo or a twist of influence, with maybe a pop up like I'm still here.
