MK9 to have online pass?

Greedy bastards. I hope they think about the people getting ylod and maybe need to reactivate the online pass on another machine. If you can only use it one time then it's ridiculous of WB. And they should know people borrow games from eachother, and of course they dont want to pay extra just to play online. Let's not hope every other company follows on the same path.

Dude it's like a game download you can put it on 5 PS3s.

Thank you, thats what I was trying to get at without people asking questions.

Its beneficial, it makes you think twice about feeding into Gamestop's hands with their unjustifiable prices on used games.

The thing is Gamestop buy a game for $20 a week after it's release they go and put it back for sale for $55. And people love that $5 off really I've seen people pick the used one just because of the $5.

Wtf.

If you knew anything about the online pass, you wold know that if you use it once on your PSN ID or 360 Gamertag, you can use it on any system providing your PSN ID or Gamertag is on that system. Dont jump to conclusions without knowing about the feature. You are right about the borrowing part however, and I swear each game that supports it gives you a 7 day trial for online pass specifically for borrowing/rentals.

This doesn't matter to me because I'll be buying it new. Plus I'm all for anything that hurts Gamestop's used sales monopoly.

Guys its not complicated. A new crisp game comes with a permanent only pass/code/voucher. You enter it in and get online no problem. Now IF you buy the game used the previous owner will have most likely used this pass and you no longer have access to online...until you purchase 1 for $10. That's it. Very simple.

Just buy new and it will all be fine. This is a pretty reasonable thing for a business to do if you ask me. Not that I like it but I understand they want to sell as much new copys as they can and tax the used market for more profit.

That's good. I can't be mad then. But it's a two-day trail it says. This is more for the rentals i guess. Nobody borrows a game from a friend for 2 days.

Well this surely confirms what I read in the demo thingy... I thought it was talking about members or w/e for XBL lol..

Every game I've played with this whole online pass thing has the option to buy your own, and Medal of Honor(the first game I played like this) let you play online, you just couldn't access the pre-order guns if you didn't have it.
Oh well. Getting it new, the people who buy it used will have to fork over the $10 dollars.

This has the potential to really, REALLY suck for people over here in Australia who are importing the game. How these online pass codes work, is the online pass is actually an item you buy off the XBox Live or PSN Marketplace, and while it normally costs $10, the code you get with a new game allows you to redeem it for a free copy of the online pass. You still then go in and download the pass off the marketplace though, and this is the big problem, because since the game isn't going to be out in Australia, the online pass will not be on our marketplace to download!

Even if I import a copy of the game from overseas, and it has a code in it for an online pass, it wont work on the XBox Live or PSN marketplace in australia (the marketplaces are regionalised), which means no multiplayer :(

Just make an account the same as your copy. So if you imported an American copy just make an American PSN/XBL account.

Its pretty ridiculous really. I'm buying the game, so I don't care about this game doing in particular, but every time I rent a game that you're supposed to have a passcode with, I get screwed out of playing online. It sucks.

Yeah, but you need to be signed in on the account that owns the pass, otherwise you can't use it. And I want to be signed in on my main account while playing for achievements, friends lists, etc.

I'm *hoping* maybe I can do something like have a second controller signed in with the other account, but have my main controller signed in with my main account, and get the best of both worlds. Maybe.

I know but it's a sacrifice that needs to be done if you wish to play online. Otherwise you can do the rest of the achievements offline and the online ones you'll have to go without.

my brother and i play in the same console but with different accounts. Will we have to buy an additional pass?
