Ermac Thread - "We are Many, You are but One!"

Has anyone hit more than 14 midscreen? I know there's a few corners that are way up there, but 14 seems to be my limit midscreen.
 
what are you talking about? Add it to your guide fool, I'm just trying to help people that wanna play Ermac out, isn't that what this thread is about? Jeez man, you're so sensitive
 
I did this combo and i dont know if someone here has used it.

B+2,1,F+2-ForcePort(D,B,4)-ForceLift(D,B,1)-Xray. If you dont have xray you can use Force Punsh.
 
Been trying out a couple fighters for a possible match-up with my Sub-Zero and I just started playing as Ermac a bit lately. He's a beast lol. I played a handful of matches online and lost most of them, I just didn't have his rhythm down right. One of the games though I was firing on all cylinders. I kept tagging the other guy with Force Pushes and keeping him from making any real progress on the rushdown. He tried to sit back for a bit and trade projectiles but I teleported and Force Slammed him into a solid combo and then pushed him off me again. Near the middle of the second round he managed to dash-block in and land a couple strings. However, I shot back with a 40% combo and then jumped-in for a finishing throw. It was fan-freakin-tastic lol. I'm definitely gonna keep practicing with him, if I get more practice on my zoning and stop dropping some combos Ermac's lookin' like he'll be an absolute terror.

Between this thread and Test Your Might's Ermac section I'm learning all kinds of things about him.
 
I've got a quick question for you guys. I'm trying to go for the Turtle trophy which with my current abilities, pretty much sticks me with Ermac. I'm pretty good with him, but not combo ready. I'm trying to learn some but my problem is getting his pre-teleport hit to connect - you know how he shoots that pseudo-fireball before he flies off the side of the screen? While my opponent was airborne, I tried being above him, below him, parallel to him... and I just can't get the damn thing to connect. Hitting him with the actual teleport punch itself is cake, it's the pre-teleport attack tied to that same move I can't land.

Does anyone know the trick to making it hit? For the record his actual in-air fireball attack is pie for me to pull off, but this one's another story.

I dont think you can connect an Airblast and a Teleport, just do a jump kick and a teleport, is the best way, and dod the jump kick with 4 because is easier do this.

Jump Forward, and in the air 4+D+B+4 do it fast and u get a Jump Kick and teleport, then u can do a Push after the port.

Edit- so that's exactly what I was doing. Thanks again man. But I have run into another problem with the damn autocorrect. A jumping BP-BP-BP into a levitate NEVER comes out because you don't need to input the final command for his fireball - so the game sees a jump-in punch, BP, BP, down, back and says "oh, fireball!" instead of looking for the FP I hit inputting the levitate. This is BEYOND annoying and I have such a hard time pulling it off because of this, God knows how hard it's going to be doing it online.

how you guys nail that jumpkick after lift? it seems i either whiff it thinking i hit when i didnt, or i hit but then the teleport whiffs.
 
I jump punch (BP) into teleport, as opposed to jump kick. It gives more time to connect with whatever you throw out after the teleport.

Raddus has a point in that the JP works better, but from my experience it's rushing the JK and Force Port. I've gotten way better at it from many hours of practice, but just focus on hitting the JK first before the Force Port. I used to mash it like crazy, but if you practice it, it will become a reflex. Distance matters as well.

And I don't get it either, Joel. I know a lot of people complain about Ermac, but I don't really understand that nerf. Too powerful?? Definitely some strange nerfs and buffs with this patch.
 
I don't even use 2,2, DB1. Usually go with Jump in 1, B+1,1,4 DB1. So it's a non-issue. A teleport followed by a sweep usually always opens people up mentally to a jump in combo.
