Does Jade have no fans?

No, it does mean it needs to erase the past. She and 99% of all of the non-immortal characters need to go away. The need to be phased out and never brought back.

I completely disagree... Just like in real life, when you move on, your past isn't erased. It's still there and it will still be part of you. It's what made you who you are.

Seems like no one here is really in an uproar that Jade was deconfirmed and possibly Havik too.

When was Havik ever deconfirmed?

As for Jade, I can live. I was more of a Kitana and Mileena fan anyway. Not every character from MK9 should come back. i want new characters and a handful of MK4-MKA characters to join.

Agreed (somewhat).

Given that Sub-Zero wasn't going to stay permanently dead after MK9, I would have been fine with the rest of the dead just staying dead, at least for 1 or 2 games.
Characters like Kitana, Kung Lao and Jax have all been absent 1 game before, and last time that I checked the games that they weren't in were still good games and the franchise didn't fall apart.

I respectfully disagree.

I also want new characters, new stories, new focuses, more oxygen to the lore.

But 99% of the characters doesn't need to go away and never be brought back like this.

What you want is another game, but with fatalities, and possibly with some characters that are immortal, and that would put all long life span Outworlders on the count. Ok that human characters should die at some point, but as a natural thing, not as erasing them just to have a new lore. We can explore other places too.

And these returning characters are not all immortal. Sub-Zero isn't. Yet, he is a must.

Kotal Kahn's experience is working well. He is brand new, deals with old classic characters very well.

We are having the chance to tell the tale in a different way, make different choices. But we don't need this 99% forgotten, this is erase the past, and that's something that not even the so called "reboot" did.

Kotal Kahn is a very good example. He is not son of nobody pre existent, but he has connections to Shao Kahn and is disputing the throne with Mileena, allied with Reptile and asked help for Sonya. I think that's a good start.

I want new horizons, but we must remember why MK is MK and that everything is connected.

Jade, the hottest and prettiest female in MK IMO, is my fav chick and I am okay with her being absent in this game.

Kitana's Mournful variation, though, looks like CRAP.

Yeah, but Ed Boon also made that stupid "sea of Sub-Zeros" comment and said that they could kill him off a bunch of times and that he will always be back, which weakens his story if they do that for future games.

As long as they DON'T bring Cyber Sub-Zero back, I am fine. Also, Kuai already showed up in the comics - HUMAN! Hell yeah. I really liked his outfit there, I hope we see him in X (I still believe the Sub we've been seeing is Bi-Han).

Totally agree. That would be the worst idea to do.

Sub-Zero could even have a longer life, but he will die, eventually, someday.

Or they find him a mate, or stop adding him if this "erase" unfortunately happens.

This sea of Sub-Zeros is totally BS, but if they do as in Deception, and show that exclusively his family has this tradition, we could have a descendant.

Anyway, it would be forcing the character. I think we can tell connected tales without unecessary erases.

Sub-Zero and Frost have a child, he joins the Lin Kuei and gets the codename "Kalt", not long after, Sub-Zero dies and Kalt takes the name Sub-Zero in honour to his father. Done.

Sub-Zero as a person is not immortal, but Sub-Zero as a character can be.

Sub-Zero as a person is not immortal, but Sub-Zero as a character can be.

Which weakens the stories of the 2 brothers and almost makes him a nothing character if just anybody can take up the mantle.
The significance of the character would be lost.

No fans, huh?

That's a false statement. Literally.

No, what I want is them to actually move beyond the same roster. They could fast forward 1000 years and start a entirely new story arch in the future, and if what you are into is the gameplay and the new character designs are as good as the new blood like ferra/torr, kotal, and devorah, then the game will be every bit as relevant and enjoyable as it ever was.

I dont need the old mixed with the new. Ive been playing these characters for 20+ years, there is no more ground to be explored with them.

Then rebrand the product as something other than MK if that's the case.

boo hoo, i hate change.
I support the females being dressed more wholesomely. That's change we got in MKX. That is GOOD change. The change I don't like is BAD change. Getting rid of proven fan favorites is BAD change.

I'm not a hater, but I'm not a diehard either.
She's that one female character to me whose never been important, but she's always just been.. there.. if you get me.
That's the only reason I don't care for her being deconfirmed.
Of course she's fun to play as though, and her costumes are usually A1.

I've always liked Jade. It's sad that she is one of MK9's casualties that is staying dead. I guess she didn't work hard enough for it.

That's not change, it's a completely new and different thing. Nobody wants that and I see you saying the exact same statement about "I want everyone dead and a roster of all new chars" over and over again in every thread, it's never gonna happen. Nobody wants a game called Mortal Kombat with no one from Mortal Kombat. You should go and play other franchises if you want different characters, but what you propose is ridiculous in so many levels.

Moving forward with no familiar faces (save for maybe Scorpion, but I can do without him) would be the most ballsy and interesting thing they could do with this series. A huge failure? Maybe. But I think gamers are more open minded these days. It could definitely work.

A "Mortal Kombat" game without anyone from Mortal Kombat is not a true Mortal Kombat game at all. It is flagrant false advertising.
