In our previous Mortal Kombat: Deception on Xbox 360 feature, we documented the numerous graphical flaws in the backwards compatibility emulation. Soon after we posted the article, 4 different Microsoft IP addresses visited our feature within a couple of hours. With the latest December 2005 update to the backwards compatible list, Mortal Kombat: Deception was removed from that list.

Last night, Microsoft posted a Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility FAQ that answers some questions about the emulation and the process and has also commented on several games that the emulators have issues with, including Deception.

Mortal Kombat®: Deception™
in our first test passes, this game seemed to run fine, but after receiving feedback from the community we've discovered our emulation for MKD is not up to our quality bar yet, so we've removed it from the list for now and hope to get it back for you soon.

So there is the "official" word from Microsoft. We'll try to get a little more information from them soon, but until then we wait with the rest of you to see when Mortal Kombat: Deception will return to the Xbox 360.

So that report you guys did helped spur Microsoft's ultimate decision in pulling the game off of the list? Or you can't necessarily claim that?

Proof that this site is the best. We convinced Microsoft that we wouldn't be satisfied with a glitchy version of MKD, and sure enough, off it goes! Good job, guys. I'm hoping they get that fixed, rather than just leave it off
