Not the best article in the world. I find the closing jab unnecessary but regardless, there is an artwork of Kahn.

Kahn looks like he needs to put on some damn shoes. I HATE the sandals thing he's been rocking for ages now...
 
Meh shao khan looks kinda dumb that is if that's gonna be the actual design and not concept art, his helmet turns me off, if you ask me i think they should go old school and have no cape if you've noticed each character has their little intro before the fight, it would be cool if khan came in with the cape then took it off for the fight, kinda how M.Bison from street fighter does that(excluding alpha).
 
I pretty much always like how Shao Kahn looks. This is definitely fine by me, and we do have alt. costumes so there's that to look forward to. I personally really like Kahn's helmet from his alt in MKD.
 
Im hoping its just that particular Artwork... Kahn doesnt look menacing at all, but in the Debut trailer He looked awesome. So lets hope someone else drew that...LOL!

Just read it and all I have to say is screw you Paul Randell. It seems ill informed and took shots at the franchise for no reason what so ever. It read like a thinly veiled hatched job. Ever one has the right to their opinion but if you are a journalist then you should be held to a higher standard. The editor should be ashamed that he approved the rantings of a Street Fighter fanboy based solely on a minute long trailer. I under stand that the game won some E3 awards and has got a buzz going for it and you want to cash in and you got caught with your pants down with out any real information but your sarcastic take on a trailer that we all have seen does not make a story. They say there is no such thing as bad press but there most certainly is such thing as bad reporting.

It rubbed me the wrong was also, left a bad taste in my mouth.
 
Shao Kahn looks like Shao Kahn. Seems appropriate.
But something else. The guy who writes this article is ridiculously biased! He seems to be just punching away at a game he might not have played? What the hell?
 
**** that guy who said it won't top street fighter, mother****a When mortal kombat was making games in te 90's-2006 street fighter didn't have shit, everyone remember that shitload street figter that was made I think in 2001 it was 3d, **** this guy, mortal kombta shall and always will be the king of fighting games, even though street fighter came out first, mortal kombat just had bigger balls than they did, blood, gore, ect, Street fighter, combo's and super moves, ohhhhh. I also say killer instinct series is better than street fighter, mkgod out!!!

Not to get too far off topic but if the one frame links in SSFIV were four to five frame links it "would" be Killer Instinct "lite" since it would help compensate for the latency online and make it easier for everyone to consistantly get bigger combos off.

look im a fan of mk and street fighter, and in all honesty i think you're completely wrong, if you have ever played Third Strike you'll notice the fighting engine is much more deeper than any of the mortal kombats, im not bashing MK at all it's just every arcade head knows this for a fact.. sorry for going off topic.

Well it's just the way that editor wrote it unlikely to top street fighter, I far as I can remember, mortal kombat up till SFIV has always pretty much toped street fighter, at least in my opinion, and I have played third strike, I still don't like it, I'm well aware of the deeper combo system street fighter has, I'm just like games that have a more ferocious and brutal combat style, street fighter just can't cut it for me, I still say screw that editor, mkgod out.

Paul Randall was only making those snooty jokes for attention. As much as I don't want to sound liek some of the other people posting here, who are seemingly whining about one magazine article, they aren't really meant to be taken seriously. He isn't reviewing the game, so he doesn't HAVE to play the whole series. That's like me reviewing Fallout: New Vegas without playing Fallout Tactics, alot of people don't have that time because they're too busy reviewing other games.

I'd save the belly-aching you guys are giving for when he reviews the game. Until then, don't get all flamey because one sub-minded magazine writer tickled your meanie-face.
