Who else is just done with this game?

I don't want to jinx anything but the past few days I've been having loads of fun online, in the beginners section. Earning some wins with my number one, Noob, right now and experimenting with others I want to main as well one day.

<-- my PSN name. Add me if you wanna play, but I definitely need to get better to be considered solidly good at this game. I'll never rage quit on you though.

What do you mean?

The number of people that actually think we care that they can't deal with mindless spam and decide to waste space creating a thread about it. And now that I think about it I just realized that the numbers a lot higher than my first estimation. More like twenty-something.

I care that they can't deal with it. Assuming they want help. But if all they really want to do is complain about someone because they try to win... Well that's different. And I'm always willing to shine light on the ignorant.

I totally agree. The online sucks so hard, which makes it annoying for me to get the Outstanding! achievement. I'm always playing against people who know these insanely long or cheap combos. I love playing the game, but I can't take it when I fight a Cage or Kang that does the two-punch-dash-repeat combo over and over and over again. I also play the game for fun, not to completely crush other people. I can deal with losing if it's a fair match, but not when it's someone who completely mastered playing the game with one character. (Cryax, Kung Lao, Ermac, and such.) The only characters I've gotten decent combos with was Cage and Kabal, and they hardly even work online when someone decides to spam me.

Very few characters can outstand Kabal's zoning (actually, primary zoners like Noob Saibot, Sindel or Shang Tsung all have bad match-ups against Kabal if I am not mistaken). You should take advantage of that.

Wait, so it's cheap that someone took the time to completely master one character and you lost to them? Big long combos are cheap? With that in mind you must think that you have to switch characters and spam one move every time to play the game properly. I fail to see any merit in any portion of your argument.

you make no sense. how is it cheap that someone knows long combos? ur gonna hate me then cuz with my main kitana, my bnbs are at least 15 hits and do over 35% of damage. I may throw in a 25 hit 50%+ combo just to piss u off, since its so "cheap". and cage is ALL about punching. he has nothing else. he's pure rush down and most of his combos start with punch and end with a nut punch. ik not trying to come off rude, but your post made absolutely no sense

Although lag has been rectified for the most part now (it'll always be there some way regardless, that is online play inherently), exploiting lag tactics voraciously, intentional spamming, and the general sh*tty attitudes of people online has broken MK online for me. I think a lot of the latter two points stems from the idea of being a stat-based focused game. People get hung up on their win/loss ratio than actually learning how to play, winning fairly (respectably), and/or losing graciously. Yes, d-bags online will always abound, but the MK kommunity takes it a whole other realm (pun intended).

Between the fun of online play being annihilated thanks to the overzealous spammers, crap attitudes of people, and the assumed death of DLC, it's all conspiring to turning most people off of MK (at least playing online) and going elsewhere.

Oh, as if the other fighting games didn't have that kind of problem. Ken in SS4, Starkiller and Yoda in SC4, etc.

Once the PS3 patch comes out, I'm willing to get better with Nightwolf, if there are any Nightwolf players that are willing to teach / help me get better. ;-)

MK 9 is a stark revelation, that people online have the attention spans of goldfish.

The online community is shrinking faster than my **** in a cold shower. Jokes aside, I don't think NRS did enough to support the game. Yes they've released a patch that has made the game more balanced than ever, but talk about shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted. They've should have stretched the DLC character releases over a longer time period. Freddy shouldnt have been made available till this month. Instead of giving us effing DLC costumes, which caused the game to crash, they should have WORKED ON WHAT CAUSES THE GAME TO CRASH!

I really like this game still, im a pretty decent player and I don't get the chance to play offline. It's not like the U.S., in the UK, I havent really known any "UK offline fight scene". Im probably wrong, I just dont think offline game playing is as big here or in EU as it is in America and Japan. The death of the arcade has helped that.

Desyncs still happen. Game session has ended still happens. Im sick of people saying "check your connection" like they are some kind of automated message. I have days where online is great, then i have days playing against the same people, and there are desyncs and lag. The servers are utter garbage, and I wonder if that has hastened the death of the online community.

mk9 needed a whole lot more modes/costumes/and other unlockables to keep people coming back. Compared to other fighting games out there, it was lacking alot of choices.
