What happened to Scorpion's spear?

I think it would be more feasible getting speared with a chain instead of a rope -_-. The spear is attached to the end of the projectile. It isn't the rope or chain that enters the body but the spear tip. <{=================
"<{" enters the body the "========="portion is only used to pull the character back to toward Scorpion.

There was a programming issue when the pic was taken, but notice the spear is embedding in cage's chest. The chain shouldn't be, but it be fixed b4 release.

As far as the discussion at hand goes. I honestly don't give a damn if its a chain, rope, or purple string as long as a spear is on the tip and it functions like all the past versions of the game.

Okay bottom line - 1. rope or chain, they both have a spear attached at the end, so there is no freakin difference!
2. THERE WAS NO SNAKE IN ANY OF THE GAMES, JUST THE 2 MOVIES!!!

Okay, for all the people who are debating about the chain and the spear and the freaking rope, what the hell dont you guys get :|? HE HAS A FREAKING SPEAR, JUST IN THIS GAME, ITS ATTACHED TO A CHAIN, NOT A ROPE LIKE PREVIOUS GAMES! How the hell would a freaking chain impale you, obviously there is a spear attached to the end of it!, you see it in the game!

Either way, chain or rope, i hope they wise up and put a spike on the end so it would actually impale the opponent. The sticky tip chain just looks goofy right now and a spear would be much more hardcore.

LOL this thread is great...the OP is 19, so he was how old when MK came out??

In the only games that matter with Scorpion in them, the first 3, his spear looks like this!

agreed this conversation shouldve been over awhile ago being that it is just a chain or rope with a spear at the end lol in the one picture with johnny cage though, it looks like scorpion is dragging him across the ground with it. I guess this was a move that wasn't shown on video yet?

What is it that people who are debating about this dont get :|, how are people saying the spear would be much more cooler, when he has the same damn spear from every game :|, its just that in this game, theres a FREAKING CHAIN INSTEAD OF A ROPE!!! THERE IS NO PHYSICAL SPEAR WEAPON, CUZ AN ACTUAL SPEAR IS STIFF, SO HOW THE HELL WOULD SCORPION BE ABLE TO PULL SOMEONE TOWARD HIM, EVERY GAME, THERES A SPEAR TIP ATTACHED TO THE ROPE, AND NOW SINCE ITS A CHAIN YOU GUYS GET ALL CONFUSED AND THINK HIS SPEAR CHANGED, ITS THE EXACT SAME THING!!! holy shit man, people are impossible LOL.

thanks for clearing it up...I knew about the spike I was just wondering why the change I just threw the snake thingy just to say lol
But the previous version does look better...or if anyone has a close up of it like the one from DA...then I might change my mind..but until then...the previous spear looks better...more ninja like u knoww??
 
I agree the previous spears do look more "ninja-like" but I think the chain gives off a more brutal image, which is def what they are going for in this one.
