What happened to Scorpion's spear?

OK my question is what happened to scorpion's spear because back then scorpion's spear was a snake coming out of his hand just like in the first Mortal Kombat movie...and now with all these trailers and videos scorpion's spear is now a chain all of a sudden...how come?
My opinion is that they should have kept the snake as his spear...

My guess is that the "chain" version of the Spear is a "Special Move" via the Super Meter.

I've seen both versions of the spear (rope and chain) in Scorpion's "Shadows" trailer, and other MK 9 screenshots.

it was never a snake in any of the games
 
Scoripon is one of my favorite characters in the series and all though I loved the rope spear I also love the new chain spear, this is Mortal Kombat for a new age and I'm loving it.
 
Okay, wtf? When was scorpions spear ever a snake like thing in the GAMES? The answer is: NEVER. The snake shit was made for the movie cuz we all know what happens to video game movies, they never follow the games actual storyline. As for the difference between the chain and the rope, who cares? They both have a spear at the end, so why does it make any difference lol?

LOL, it was pretty funny though, but i agree, one time thing only. They should make it unlockable in the new game, or DLC if you really enjoyed it. Not gonna lie, i would probably use it from time to time for a laugh.
 
LOL I always knew good ol scorp said GTFOH in mksm lol its hard to tell. & the chain is way better then a rope. I just hope the spear not big as hell like in MK VS DC
 
lol I knew ppl were goin to say that but ya get me...the spear changed...now the chain version...ehh doesnt look as cool as the previous version...plus how can you get speared with a chain???

I think it looks awesome.
I don't mind the chain spear at all.

That's the least of my worries with MK 9.

I never really played MKSM so I checked out Scorpion on Youtube and I just LOL. "Get Over Here *****", but really is that that bad of a word for a M rated title. Well actually I don't know what MKSM was rated.

I noticed in his second Fatality he rips off a leg and says the "Get The F Over Here", that's a little more than needed.
