Uppercut to Another Stage? Yes or No?

Should the Uppercut to Another Stage Feature be Included in MK9?

There is one thing I've always hated in MK3/UMK3 and that is going to another stage when you uppercut someone. For example in one of the coolest stages, Scorpion's Lair, I have to try not to uppercut the player just so I can stay in it and enjoy the awesomeness of it....and at one point I would forget and then be transferred to the crappy Shao Khan's Cavern! So I definitely think NRS should scrap that idea for MK9. What do you guys think?

Edit: It doesn't matter if both stages are great. I just don't like the idea of changing stages during a match.

Good to see people agreeing with me :) For some reason I thought that I was the only one who hated that! LOL

Its alright MileenaK, as long as you don't like it, its a big NO from you as well. That yes doesn't count ;)

Not feeling it in this game due to the extensive detail on the backgrounds but I wouldnt mind that much if it happened on stages that would make sense to be in the same "location"

i dont like it but i'd be ok if there was one stage that did it

I agree with at least one stage, but I've always like this idea. That is to say I won't be too disappointed if its not included. The stages are already gorgeous enough as they are.

your saying you dont want it in the game because you dont like the level that they end up in as much as the first,,, so if you liked the 2nd level as much as the first would you change your mind on the idea?

your basing your opinion on the old game as if its fact that you will end up on a crap stage in MK9 also

i think its a great little feature, i loved it in the early MKs and if this is a fan service like they say they godda put that shit in!

just make sure the 2nd level is as good as the first, if not better! (living forest hint hint)

Yes, I did forget to mention that detail. I don't like the idea of changing a stage during a match at all even if both stages are great. When I'm in one stage, I would like to stay in that stage (good or bad) until the next match just like MKI and II.

I thought uppercutting to another stage was kinda cool, my only major problem was you'd get in a stage loop where you'd see the same 3 stages over and over again. For instance, in MK3 if you uppercutted in the Soul Chamber you'd send your opponent onto the Balcony, and then have to go through the Bridge level, then back to Soul Chamber again, never seeing the other stages.

good point, they would fix that this time round i would imagine so every stage plays :)

I liked it in MK3. I wouldn't mind seeing it come back. As long as they make levels for each stages, rather than sending you to a completely different stage. Basically a few different themes for the same stage to be sent too.

Nah. It was a fun concept back in the day, but it's not necessary and will interrupt the gameplay.

I don't mind multitier stages where you can uppercut or kick them down to a certain area of the stage but too send your oponent to a completely new stage is a no for me.

If they did bring it to MK9 (i don't think they will) what will they do about the bgm?

I voted yes, because I'd like to have the chance to get into another stage during the fight, but not by uppercut: would be cool to have a kinda Stage Fatality who can be executed in every moment that makes both opponents end up into another arena, and not only vertically but even sideways.

Wow. I never would have imagined so many peeps had a problem with this element from MK3. I always thought it was cool. Oh well. They're almost assuredly not going to have multi-tiered levels as they take away from tournament play, which NRS really wants for this game. I don't mind them being in or not, but I always enjoy fighters with background interactivity, especially when done well. I'd say that was a big reason I played a lot of Dead or Alive.

But yeah, I wouldn't really mind either way.

What about in MKA when u got hit and you rolled down the stairs or you broke through the walls, or if u got knocked down to another level in the same arena (like the FOUNDRY). I think that may be a little better than uppercut to a totally new level. If they just had it like they did in MKA it may be ok.

I voted yes but I wouldn't mind if it is there or not. I'm surprise so many don't want it in. The way people scream about having the old stuff from the series return.
