TRANSFORMERS (1984 cartoon)

Although I've outgrown the original cartoons, I love the original movie!
I'd love to see another animated movie with updated animation something similar to what was used in Ghost in the Shell 2. We know it'll never happen though..
 
The original (animated) movie was traumatizing as hell to people my age who grew up with the series. After watching both sides shoot at each other a million times on TV and miss, suddenly Autobots were being picked off left and right. I get they wanted to use the movie as a bridge to phase out the old characters and introduce new ones, but holy balls that was just shocking to see. Plus killing off Prime? They obviously had no idea the connection kids had to the characters. Mention the movie or just "Optimus Prime dying" to any male around the age of 30 and you're likely to see their bottom lip tremble just a little bit.
 
When I was growing up, the Transformers show I usually watch was definitely Beast Wars. As of this year, I saw all of the G1 series episodes (including the movie). I was sadden with many favorable Autobot deaths, but was definitely happy when Starscream was finally killed off by Galvatron (he should've been killed in season 2 after his Combaticons were defeated by the Stunticons).
