Should Hydro ever be considered as a character for MK10?

I still do not take the Cyber Sub Zero idea. They should know Hydro is popular, they are highly similar. They screwed Sub Zero instead :(

It seems like as soon as he stopped spamming his ice (?) clone, he started being unable to compete...

He looks pretty cool though. I'm sure NRS could make him different enough from rain and subby, although he looks pretty similar to what cyber sub zero would be.
 
^^ glacius from ki + subzero moves can be seen -.- :P they can make better things with water to make him different from both Rain and Subzero
 
I thought it was a cool reference in legacy to have a cyborg Hyrdo but would I actually want him to be in an MK game? Probably not We already have Sub-zero( 2 of them in MK9), Rain and even Frost (who I dont like). So I'm gonna say no to Hydro.

Like everybody else in this thread I'd prefer Tremor since his story and abilites are far more unique. Besides Hydro didnt even get to be in a game at all. He was nothing more than a comic book character. Ya ino what your thinking well Tremor was only in a s**tty game called special forces. Which is true but he was supposed to be in MK Trilogy but was replaced by Rain. Hydro is a bad*** name though but not much potiental in the character itself...
 
Damn they killed Hydro, that sucks, he is cooler than Cyrax and Sektor in the chapter.

Hydro would be cool in MK9, but I dont know, it would be like Cyber Rain...
 
Got to admit, i thought Hydro was pretty badass in legacy, only ever heard of him, never played him in that mugen thing (never had it)

As someone said on the 2nd page, people need to think outside the box a bit more, like for hydro, I think it would be better if he was actually just a robot, never was human, but then their wouldn't be much differences between him and sektor. as for power's, I dont think he should use water/ice powers, at all, neither lightning, that electricity thing he did in legacy could be incorperated to make a badass x-ray/finisher but I think it would be more unique for him to keep that stuff low down, you would want him to be really unique, if he was to come in to the game with all these water/ice/lightning powers people will just say he is a hybrid clone. make him look way more robotic, give him something like a chainsaw for one of his arm's, no teleport move, but a nice dash attack, his projectile could be something like him throwing a giant metal spike from his arm or something.

Either way though, Id much rather see tremor before a hydro, and I doubt we will see either.

1 - Hydro was human in the comics
2 - Having a character, robot or human, named Hydro and dont give him water powers is retarded, is like Sub-Zero not having ice powers.
 
No. It's a shit concept. There's already someone with water and lightning powers-Rain, duh. I do agree they need new characters. But they definitely need to branch AWAY from the ninja type. Mortal Kombat is wayyyyy too saturated with ninjas.

As much as i love mugen and mk comics, i must agree there really is no point to adding him, sure he could get new and improved moves, but in my opinion, he has already got more attention than a malibu comic character could hope for. There are tons more minor characters than this guy. Siang, Grum, Henge, the list goes on and on.

I would agree that Tremor is LOOOOOOONG overdue. Even if No Face and Tasia are way more original characters

this makes me think of mkda,d,a where they tryed to make mk not about the ninja's and we all kno were those game got them.

i wish they would make new one's to but mk seems to fail with out the draw of the ninja's

I'm talking about the character of Hydro as a whole really. I just think there's enough characters whose powers involve the elements in the game already. It's something I noticed that most people do when they try to think of a new character as well and I just think its gonna take away the uniqueness of the characters that already have those powers if you know what I mean. I know they may seem different gameplay wise like rain's and nightwolf's lightning bolt but I would just rather a new character bring a completely new ability to the fight.

What about earth and wind?

Wind is not present in MK9, and Earth was never present in the series...
 
Tremor looks damn near the same as scorpion, and its not like he had earth elemental powers, he had a multi fireball and a ground pound.

No Face and Tasia were the other original bosses in MK Special Forces who get absolutley NO fan love.

But I will admit, I thought he was cool in the mugens, I wish he would have been in the game instead of Cyber sub.

I just cannot agree more with the above. There already is enough ninjas as it is. MK is not a ninja story based game. Even characters like Rain and Ermac should stop having anything to do (in design concepts wise) with ninjas, since their story had nothing to do with them being a current or ex, or even any sorts of training under Lin kuei. An alt costume paying homage to their MK beginnings is ok, nothing more.
Anyway, IMO, what sucks and really bring down most characters in MK 3D era is the overall gameplay n some of their individual story.
Bottom-line, if it just keep adding on endless ninjas, we might as well call it LK instead of MK.
 
I was actually very shocked to see him in Legacy. I was expecting Smoke, but it was cool anyway. I think he should be considered, but not added. I still have no idea what they're doing with Cyber-Smoke, but if anything he should come before Hydro. I know Tom Brady said he'll be a costume, but who knows with NRS...

Seeing how they did with the characters though Hydro & Tremor could be insane.
