Scarlett and future DLC characters $5 each

$5 is exactly what I was expecting, because it is in line with the U.S. MvC3 DLC character prices. The 2 robot costumes are a great bonus. I am pretty happy that they are deciding to have many DLC characters if they sell well, even if they are $5 each. If you don't like one or all of them, don't buy them. For the fan favorites like Rain, Kenshi, Fujin, and Cyber Smoke (I wish), no price is high enough to make it the 'ultimate' MK game in our eyes. It also keeps the game fresh and new.

I have a question. If it's priced at 5 dollars. How much does NRS get? and how much of it goes to Microsoft/Sony? Don't sony and microsoft get a cut?

Yes, Sony and Microsoft do get a cut of everthing that's put up to buy on their stores. It's very small and nothing close to retail, but they do.

20 bucks for all of them

1/3 of the games price :?
On-disc content =/= Downloadable content

Even if the 28 characters on-disc were priced at 2 bucks (which would be an absolute steal), that would still equal to 56 bucks, approximately 94% of the game's price.

$5 isn't such a bad price. I will surely support any DLC Mortal Kombat has to offer as long as it isn't ridiculously priced.

Oh, and newbie to the forums here. :)

Wait, so the patch will be released that day, as well? Or do you have to buy the character to get the patch?

I'm probably gonna buy since I want the MK3 Sektor and Cyrax skins.

The patch that fixed the gameplay glitches, buffs and nerfs already came out over the weekend for the PS3 version. For the Xbox version, it'll be later this week. If you're talking about the patch that fixes the online for both systems, that too should come by next week. (According to Tom Brady who's in contact with NRS)

If you had told me Skarlet was gonna be 10 bucks I would've believed you. $5 is a nice surprise in my opinion. Not to mention the free Sektor/Cyrax skins.

Funny how some people think a whopping 5 dollars is unreasonable for introducing a new character with their own moves, xrays, fatalities etc.

Remember, they don't HAVE TO give us more characters. Also, how long did SF4 wait to bring new characters? A year before each update? Getting a new char merely 2 months after release is great. Especially since her character data isn't on the disc already

I guess charging us 5 dollars for costumes that are already on the disc is reasonable? :)

C'mon, folks.
If the first downloadable character would've been Rain, how many of us would complain?

I'm from Argentina and a game costs $350 (= 90 US dollars) here, and I'm not b!tch!ng about it. I'll get it 'cause it's a terrific game that me and my friends enjoy every time we get together. IT'S A GAME THAT DELIVERS and, as such, I consider it's worth to keep it fresh with new material.

Does anybody else miss the MK3 Sub-Zero (the one without mask)?

How much for 1 rib? lol
SSF4 arcade was $14.99 (that's $3.75 per character) & I bought it for xbox & ps3.
I'll be purchasing all the dlc characters cause $5 ain't sh*t unless you're still in school which I'd bet is where most of the whining is coming from.

From what I gathered in the article, Skarlett/Cyrax/Sektor is one pack and the "compatability" patch is seperate. If you dowload the patch, you'll get the skins by default.

I love everything Sub Zero. I do miss unmasked SZ but I think the MKDA version was underdeveloped.

My thinking is that if they were only planning to release a max of say 4 characters total for the life of the game.... Ok fine 5-8 dollars is understandable.

But from the looks and sounds of it, they're just gonna keep releasing character after character after character....

If they are planning to release 8 new characters, I think 3.99 each is reasonable.

That's similar to some European countries. We pay £40 ($65) in England, but others in the EU can pay anything up to the equivalent of £62 ($100). The difference between territories is crazy!
