2) Progressive Scan.. I know the graphics in this game aren't really High Res, but it would have been nice for those of us who have the capability.

You have PS2? Because the Xbox supports 480p, looks great here. I just wish it supported widescreen, but not a huge difference not having it wide. I can't tell a huge difference atleast.

Technically, you are playing MKSM in 480i. I also own the PS2 and the game will run in 480i. You have turn the progressive scan mode on if games menu allows you the play the game in 480p.
The thing is that if you have the component cables, it will still look better than the regular analog or S-video cable.

That's what I meant.. 480p

I have the HDTV and Component cables for the PS2

Does the MKSM option menu allows you to run the game in 480p?
Like you I own an HDTV and I have the component cables. It's a shame that so few games allow you to use the progressive scan. So far I own only three games that does that: MKD, GT4 and God of war.

It's normally done by the device like your dvd player, XBOX, PS2. Not your HDTV. Your HDTV will be comp for different pi and whatnot, you just have to tell the device to do it. THere is a setting for XBOX to select it and as long as your TV does it, then it will work. Progressive scan looks great on my GC and with them , you have to hold down the B button when starting the game up and it will ask you to switch.

By the DVD yes. In the DVD player menu, there is a setting for progressive scan. I don't know about the Xbox because I don't have one. But the PS2, I needed to get in the PS2 menu and change the video source first before hooking the component cable to my HDTV. Just by doing so the picture is incredible sharper and the colors are more vibrant but you are still in 480i unless the game menu, let's say like GT4, gives you the option to turn the progressive scan on. It will look even better.
My HDTV accepts 480p, 720p & 1080i. I'm prepared for the next gen.
I can't wait how great it will look on 720p and I can't wait for the HD-DVD. :)

I have the PS2 saved to use the component cables (it actually automatically detects it).

Every game that I've used Progressive Scan on, it had the option in the Menu somewhere..

Radiata Stories required you to turn off the PS2 and hold Triangle and X, while booting up. However, there was a menu in the options that told you to do this.

I've looked through the book for MKSM and it doesn't say anything about Progressive Scan.

BTW, my TV supports 480p, 720p & 1080i also.

Anyone know a good computer video card that supports HDTV?
