PC version of Mortal Kombat 9...

They who? Not NRS that's for sure... those type of mods are normally only done by certain fans. Any mods would only be possible if they leave the files open to modding which some companies actually make their games hostile to modding. Although sometimes enterprising modders find ways around those limitations\blocks.

I agree that there would probably be more nude mods for the female characters. Also the thing about mods is if you don't like particular ones you don't have to download or load them.

But either way thinking about mods is getting ahead of ourselves a little since the game hasn't even come out yet for the PC.

Signed. Actually any good pc will run a game about 10 frames per second faster USUALLY than a console. Thats not always the case though if its not ported right. This has much potential, especially with multiplayer. Of course there would be nude mods but like the other poster said no one is forcing you to try mods. It would be nice for creating really good custom characters and maps I think. So hell yeah lets see this happen!

PC version wasn't listed in both GOTY and Komplete Edition releases. I still believe (such an optimist, aren't I?) that they want to see MKAK PC sales.

I was thinking like you before, i hope we are right :). Unfortunately, even they didn't release MKAK to PC yet :P

It has been long since there was an update regarding Mortal Kombat 9 on PC? Another tweet from the so called genius ED BOON regarding MK 9 for PC and unfortunately another troll of the same video

https://twitter.com/#!/noobde/status/164730240130760704

I tweeted Boon asking him if MKAK does well on PC, if there would be any chance of an MK9 port. Of course I got no response, but I do believe if MKAK sells well on PC, then that may increase the likelihood of seeing an MK9 port.

MKAK might sell well but I'm sure people downloaded leaked version too many times :(

You can't play leaked versions online, so there really is no benefit to pirating the game when MAME versions have existed for several years.

The amount of times its been pirated doesn't matter as long as they turn a good profit, enough to justify an MK9 port, at least.

edit - Retail version of MKAK now available here: http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-MKAK/mortal-kombat-arcade-kollection

Hi guys!

If I read such lines I could just punch their faces one by one.
MKOnline.com said:
In 2002, Midway Marketing staff, David Tokheim and Randy Severin, told Mortal Kombat Online that PC versions had notoriously failed to return cost, resulting in an absence on computer from Deadly Alliance, onward.
Srsly, games are programmed on PC. The fact that the last two games were build up in Unreal Engine makes these arguments totally worthless.
Implementing another imput sheme, and a graphics option menu to an existing UDK/UE3.0+ project takes one week of total work.
If NR is going to use GfWL or the so called XBLive they don't even have to reprogramm the network code from scratch.

IMHO console developer of these days are just looking for poor excuses and the maximum profit, to not support PC gaming. Even if they used their PCs like 3 year to programm/design/test out their code on them. Talking about high risk, in digital distribution is totally BS. You don't even have to calculate how many discs would be needed for shipping. And I really don't blame WBGames. This company also published Batman AA and from the looks of it the strategy went into the right directions. Otherwise they would have never released the 2nd titel Arkham City on the PC.

A deep look onto the ISOs of both console version show how much similarities the game has with other Unreal Game titles that were published on PC. The missing things are the dll's and executables... and its just a few compiles away

Im Really Sorry Guys! I want MK9 on PC so badly! I am planning to purchase a Core i7 laptop with GTX 580 and that too ALIENWARE since they are best known for gaming. The point that i see is the video that boon redirected to in the Status update which i previously posted on has a title saying "You Ain't Never Gonna Get it". This is the second time he has trolled (hold on i think he trolls all the time) with the same video. I find it stupid from his point of view. PLUS + PS3 games are being downloaded. After it was jail breaked it is easy to download from torrents and put it in the MULTIMAN Software for the PS3.

If PC really was a stupid platform for arcade fighting games then CAPCOM would deny the release of Street Fighter IV : Arcade Edition as well as Street Fighter X TEKKEN. Also CAPCOM is releasing Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Screw that also. NAMCO CEO has said that after looking at the petition which was signed by over 75,000 users for Dark Souls , he will definitely consider a PC Version. At least he is giving positive responses. Ed Boon keeps giving stupid responses.

In Kotaku he says MK 9 We're definitely considering it. In Wikipedia he says there is market for PC games. In an interview with g4tv he says Usually to do a PC Version is more of Marketing and Sales.

SO WHERE IS THE PROBLEM AFTER PRAISING THE PC PLATFORM SO MUCH? IS IT TOO MUCH WORK FOR HIM?

I DONT THINK SO. UNREAL ENGINE 3 ALLOWS PORTING PS3 GAMES TO PC IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME PLUS DIRT CHEAP IT IS.

You guys are acting like it's Ed Boon who's calling all the shots. Maybe, he does want MK9 on PC, but WB told him no.

Impossible! WB GAMES released Batman: Arkham City on PC. Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection on PC. And if im not wrong , Arkham City was a much more expensive game to develop and it has a higher rating on the Market that Mortal Kombat 9. So WB Games would not be stupid enough to deny MK 9 for PC. BOON is simply not interested. Or if he was interested he would not troll by taking the fans to some stupid videos of 1992 En Vogue etc etc.

He can simply tell us on the face "SORRY , WB has Denied PC Version of MK".

How do you know he can? This may be a kind of information that can't be spoken by developers.

Even if there is a NDA about that, my bet is that Boon himself decided it.
There are to many reasons against the rumor that WB blocks PC players out of the MKUniverse. MKAK was released 2 days ago and another studio just proofed its possible to port games to the PC. Also MKAK uses an UnrealEngine Build that plays the Binaries of MK Klassiks from what the directory structure looks like.

Bitter pill is that the game requires GfWL/XBLive for online play. So even with a PC release there is a way to make a console partner (MS.Gaming/XBOX360) happy. Each online player has to pay a Gold subscribtion play against friends arround the world.
As for the older MK3D games, I take the point of NRS desicion, to not port MK:DA, SM, Arma... to PC. They've used RenderWare previously, and it was barely used on PC and kind of unsupported by many ICs.

Rights are held by WB atm. and WB has a great cataloge of PC games in there wich were published by other companies before.
For Example there's F.E.A.R. former published by Sierra Entertaiment wich was a partner of the old VivendiGroup - now owned by Activision-Blizzard. And still they released the 3rd installment on PC too. Maybe there will be a project or some genius out in the www that is able to rebake the XBOX isos to make it work for the PC.
