NO 360 Exclusive Character. IMPORTANT!!!

Honestly man, you R-Matt and the 10 other people on this site that are butt hurt about Kratos are NOT the majority. Let's be realistic here. ;)

Pretty much any character 360 had that could do a crossover would not be NEARLY as bad ass as Kratos.

Besides,
MK did it's fair share of crossing over when it crossed over into those 2 power ranger movies...

Should MK have a guest character or not? That's what I'm referring to because I honestly don't see how it's a bad thing. Any extra content would be a nice bonus right?

Yes I understand that, I was just saying some of the comments "I'm so happy to be a 360 owner" "you 360 owners are lucky". I just never been on a board this weird about outside characters in a game. Yes I wouldn't care if the Halo dude was in it I simply wouldn't play with him. Just like the people who don't care for stryker, sheeva or any other character.

Not really when this is supposed to be a back to basics reboot MK game, I didnt see Donkey Kong appearing in MK 1-3 back in the day. If it was extra content regarding MK itself, then hell yeah bring it on.

@Adjun obviously we are not the majority, the majority of fans arent as extreme and only want pure MK as we do lol.
 
@ Adjun: I don't know about the others but my main beef with Kratos isn't necessarily Kratos himself, it's the fact that Ed Boon will see the reaction from "fans" like you and begin to think that guest characters are the way to go. Kratos is just the bedrock for a godawful uprising of newcomers and a portal of shit flying directly towards MK purists' faces. The fact that they use guest characters shows just how insecure they are about their roster. Now here is a sad face :(

Thats exactly my beef as well, I love Kratos in God of War, but no outsider has the right to be in MK. Look at what is happening to soul calibur now, its not being taken as seriously as it used to be.

I completely understand the 'purist' point of view. But when it comes from people like R-Matt who haven't even played the 'purest MK game MKII' it's hard to see where you're coming from.

Several cracks in your logic here man. First, I'm not a "fan". I'm a fan of Mortal Kombat. However, I certainly am not a 'fanboy'. I can see for myself that there is much more Mortal Kombat waste than there is MK gold. I was there in the arcades when the REAL MK games were around and were king.
Second, Ed Boon has already traveled down the path of crossovers with the very flawed and failed MK vs. DC. I don't think that MK fans appreciating Kratos' appearance is going to give him thoughts of Donkey Kong crossovers any more than purists complaining about Kratos is going to make him go away.
Lastly, MK is NOT, I repeat NOT respected as it once was. In fact, it's become the butt-joke of a lot of fighting game enthusiasts and is enjoyed primarily on a nostalgic "let's play the old games on the PC emulator" basis. I am NOT happy about this and see MK 2011 as a possible turning point in the franchise. To do this, they MUST bring in fans, new AND old. Purist and fanboys, hardcore and casual. The few dollars from the very small minority of the purists is not going to be enough to have WB continue making MK games. I'm sorry, but it's just ignorant to think otherwise.

I have to disagree Mk vs Dc was not a fail. It was actually one of the better Mk games I have played.
 
@ Adjun: That's exactly my problem, the money. When they get a whiff of that fat cash coming in from GOW fans, do you honestly think they will stop? And even if NRS were to think they don't need any more guests, it's all up to the fat cats at WB.

I know that some fans had issues with this game. But from what I heard, it was far from being a failure and received mostly positive reviews.

Not at all, I just don't want it to be misunderstood that because I applaud the addition of Kratos I'm not a true fan of Mortal Kombat. And trust me, the fat cash will be coming from the loads of DLC that we'll have to shell out to have what we want in this game. They've already started by holding back the truest grass-roots fatalities and outfits for the top 3 characters, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile. Trust me, this is only the beginning. When all is said and done this game will cost $250.00 for the full package!
 
Heres a thought, 360 owners instead of getting a guest character get an extra character from the get go. Rain anyone?

Well I liked it for two reasons It was better than Armageddon IMO and I never really liked Superman that much because no one could hurt him So yeah I took full advantage of that :)

Damn I hear you bro. I wouldn't have believed they were being cheap about the dlc if I hadn't seen Sub-Zero's spine rip in Jax reveal. That showed me their true intentions.

Not surprised. It isn't easy to find characters that fit into MK perfectly.

360 just doesn'y have any good characters to chose from. Gears and Halo are the only big games from the 360 and none of their characters fit into the MK universe.
