MK9 The Living Guide Droid/IPhone app by TOM BRADY

Tom has put A LOT of work into this, so I see no problem for charging for it. He's busted his ass making it out to tournaments to help keep this game alive, weekly 2-3 hour long live streams helping everyone out with questions, and a whole lot more. If you ever got any useful info from him and you still say he's greedy, shame on you. Also I LAWLZ at people who bought the strategy guide with the game and wouldn't buy this. It has way better info and is much cheaper. I'm sure you spend more than $3 when you get fast food.

I don't have anything to support this app, does anyone know if it will be available on PC?

Seconded. Especially the PC part lol. I don't have any of those fancy technological doo-dads, but this guide sounds like good s--t.

Wow people really don't seem to like my post about this being a money grabber, 3 negative reps. It's the way I feel about this, therefore an opinion, 2.99 for an app is ridiculous when I could easily watch a tip video on youtube or figure it out myself. I'm not being ignorant so deal with it or ignore it.

i just think some people on TRMK are cheap asses. *****ing about a $3 app, or $5 DLC. come on xD(and im not saying everyone or most of the people on here are cheap)

the way you feel about this? By your definition of money grabber, and basically down repping Tom Brady(In real life) by implying he's greedy? by your definition of Greed EVERYONE is greedy. We shouldn't be allowed to make money doing the things we love, and it just so happens... it helps people out at the same time? Broken?

I love writing fiction, I let people read it for free. But that's only because I haven't tried to get any of it published. If I could make a living off writing fiction I would. And I'd be damned if someone called me greedy for it...

you are directly hurting someones reputation as a human being with an "opinion." doing such a thing should only be done with FACTS. I have spent like... probably 200+ hours on jade ALONE learning stuff. And I still don't know everything. I can only imagine Tom Brady doing ALL THE CHARACTERS. Let alone ALL OVER AGAIN on changes in a patch.

For the record I didn't neg rep you. But you have to see how your post can be taken offensively. You indirectly called someone greedy and I bet you don't even know Tom Brady in person.

tom has already given out A HUGE LOAD of free advice. Probably more than anyone you can point out.

Last I heard Greedy people don't give out free stuff/advice out of the kindness of their hearts. (No homo) [although he's charging money for this] I believe he deserves it (see fiction section of my post on why)

Nah, I'm from Canada man. lol. Thanks for the invite though.

I was just trying to tell you (probably a bit too rude) to not alienate the players who arent as serious because this app still helps up out. I've improved since I've got the app (and some help from some people here), but I still have a long way to go. But I play the game mostly for fun, I don't have time to player 100 matches a day like some people. But I still think the guide is a good read and defintely helps out.

And yeah, I argee they were lame ass comments. Just try to kill just him and not all of us innocent people next time. :P lol

Best of luck at the tourny. Hope you win. :)

appreciate it man, I'll post stream info where we will stream from the time share house we're renting. I'm streaming cook out where we can do meet and greets and of course games.

VEGAS!!

I'm sure this is a great app but I'm quite happy with the cheaper MK Mini guide. The guy updates it almost every day. Butt I guess it really depends on the itunes preview pics are posted of the Brady Bunches guide.

Is there a preview for this app anywhere?

I bought mk9 miniguide for 0.99 and it's been nothing but AWESOME. Very easy to read, customizable buttons, good combos etc....

I respect Tom Brady and wouldn't mind paying for this app, but I would like to see some of it's contents first....

Would someone be kind enough maybe upload a video showing the app a little?

Thx

Just bought this guide, love it! The format is so much easier to read and quick to reference than the in-game moves list, even.

Wow i'm surprised. I actually bought it and gave it a chance, it has alot of tips about characters and very nice format nonetheless.

After toying with this guide for a while, I can assert that it is easily worth more than 3 dollars. To break down how it is setup, this guide displays the roster of characters' names, you tap the name of a fighter and it brings up their full moves list including all link combos, fatalities, specials.

At the top of the characters moves list it shows "Living Guide" which when clicked displays the patch number the guide pertains to (1.0 currently it looks like) and then has a very very detailed breakdown of the character. Link combos, special moves, enhance moves, general tactics, and so on. Details include which attacks are safe on block or partially safe, situational punishes for specific special moves, and makes note of which moves are dangerous /slow/ disadvantaged enough on block that you can eat a full combo. It displays where each special hits, as well, for those looking to improve their defensive game by knowing where to block.

The general tactics section of the living guide for each fighter consists mainly of ways to get openings or maintain pressure, and specials to avoid when trying to do mix up due to special punish situations and the like.

I thought I would type up this more detailed explanation to help those who are on the fence decide if this app is something they might find useful or not. Overall, very worth it, I learned new things about Jade and Sub Zero after only a few minutes with this guide.

Something tells me you need the guide haha

Last time i checked we're ALL part of the MK Community here, and i would say that it's mainly ALL of us that has kept hope alive for this series back when it went through it's rough period....casual players, or tourney players, so please take your elitist bulls**t elsewhere.

I have alot of respect for people who take the time to really get into the stuff that Brady is putting together, and are able to use it successfully, but i would say that the actual number of people that do this is small....but it doesnt make it any less of an achievement. There are many people (like myself) who really love MK, put the time into it that they are able to, (being married with kids, and a fulltime job, its tough), and are able to hold their own against most players. The fact that you DO have the time, will, etc...to get into it to this point while impressive, doesn't make you any more important to NRS than the person who doesn't. You're not curing cancer, it's a videogame...get the f over yourself.

It's pretty simple you either want the guide to open your mind to get better or out of curiousity/good read.
Or you're so casual you don't care. If you are the don't care type then there is no reason to post about not wanting it.

You've got inner anger issues

I basically said if you want to compete w the best or up your game in any fashion I recommend the guide. I have a kid, married2 jobs, 3 bands, social life and a p90x gym schedule and I still bought it.

I also recommend "words w friends" does that make me an elitist scrabble player? Lol

WTF your problem - u give trmk bad name

Yea agreed,

I was just about to reply saying Pig has a band, wife, kid or kids which take a lot of time and like plenty of other competitive players have lives.

Some people get skill and time spent on a game mixed up together.

After discovering that one can download a free Kindle reading program for PC off of Amazon I decided to pick up the guide. So far, I'm really diggin' it.

The guide has some really great info and it's all laid out quite clearly. It's sorted by characters and each character has a section for their strings, specials, strategies, traps and shenanigans, bnbs (of all shapes and sizes lol), and a great number of tips. It has a section in the beginning that lays out all kinds of basic things such as info about neutral jump punches, grabs, breaker, armor, and anything else one might need to get from Point A (button-mashing) to Point B (ready to make great bounds). It's not an end-all, but it does offer a great deal of information about all the characters as well as the game itself. If you're interested in upping your game, you wouldn't go wrong in buying this guide. Good stuff for less than the cost of an XBL avatar outfit lol.

If Tom Brady does keep updating this like I've heard tell, I will be a very happy camper. =)

3mag5num7: he is especially after Evo

After august rolls through all 4 dlc will be released, Evo will be over and he'll have time again to update the dlc characters as well as more info for the current.

Also tournament updates were talked about as well

The kindle app is a great choice for PC users or anyone without a droid.
