Am I the only one who is more intrigued by the revenant ?

Anyone here would like a story to expand upon the story of the revenant. Even if from a comic perspective how each one was turned by quan chi, what horrible stuff they did while under quan chi control, their perspective of the war when they turned evil. Interaction with Sonya, Johnny cage and Raiden throughout the years.

We got a glimpse with Sub Zero but it would be really good seeing whether our fallen heroes are too far gone after 25 years. Recall Jax wanted to kill himself and he turned back human.

I think we might've gotten so much more into everything if we had better writers. This whole story mode left us wondering 'Uhh..well..um...Huh?' after it ended. Still too many questions.

Yes, story mode felt like eating an Emmental.
Yes, revenant designs are quite nice and interesting.
Yes, I would like that gap to be filled.

I really enjoyed the revenant. It made things new and interesting and the designs are just awesome.
One thing I didn't quite enjoy about them however, is how they were developed from hero to villain. Quan Chi's revival and making them evil plan seemed quite.. cheap to me. I would have liked reasons for them actually being evil rather than Quan Chi's say-so.

Exactly, even under Quan Chi's spell Scorpion retained some form of free will, as shown when Quan Chi couldn't just force him to kill Bi Han in MK9. But the rest of the revenants are just totally brainwashed, beyond blaming Raiden for what happened to them, and Smoke realizing he's had the soul of a demon.

But now that Dr.Chi is dead and they're still the same... What now?

Introduce someone else with his talents. I mean, why not? The story isn't taken all that seriously, anyway. The writers can either keep the characters as Revenants or pull something silly out of their asses to fix it. *shrug* We'll have to wait and see.

But I do call bs on Smoke being an undead warrior for Quan Chi. The dude has a demon living inside him (one that has brought Smoke back to life before). I feel like they could have put that into play to make things a little more interesting.

Liu Kang and Kitana as revenants are definitely interesting when compared to their MK1-MK9 counterparts.

Although I 100% want that Kung Lao gets freed from his revenant status with help of Kung Jin like in MKX ending for MK11. He vs. Liu Kang would be amazing, because he's been overshadowed by Liu Kang long enough. Kung Lao owning Liu Kang in 1v1 battle would definitely make some impact on his "light Liu Kang" status. Also, like I've said, Kung Lao's older skin is just badass and he being a "prince" of Netherrealm after Liu Kang and Kitana would be another slap on his face.

That + Smoke freed from Revenant status. His human form has been so underrated and in my opinion it's waste that he + Kung Lao weren't in spotlight of older heroes in MKX instead of Liu Kang and Kitana.

If Smoke comes back for MK11, I bet he's going to be a cyborg to fill in for Cyrax and Sektor. And since the LK are now fully human, I also bet Smoke will ride solo.

Why would Smoke become cyborg? That makes absolutely no sense. Sub-Zero has taken over the Lin Kuei and killed all cyber Lin Kueis. He's most likely destroyed the equipment that turned them into cyborgs as well.

theincubuslord: I have a feeling NRS might do it to make things more interesting. I doubt they will create a new cyborg. Smoke just seems as an easy solution. If he won't be associated with the LK and go solo, it could happen. There surely will be a way. SZ was cyborg at the end of last game and he's now human again because he chose so. Smoke can do the opposite for whatever reason.

I'm game, I really did grow more interested in them as the story went on. But I think my real spike was the glimpse of sub zero in the comic like you said.

On the sub-zero topic,
I wish we could of seen Quan Chi ripping his robotic flesh off in-game. I imagine it'd mirror the Sindel scene from MK9.

Well, I'm sure Predator is taking probably both of Cyrax and Sektor's moves in this game.
I'd love a new cyborg, but clearly Sektor and Cyrax will be back before Cyborg smoke will. [IF Cyb. Smoke ever returns. It would be bs if he were. I love human smoke more]

Well, it is kinda obvious now Predator is in MKX instead of K/M. K/M this game don't stand a chance. Sektor's dead and Cyrax probably too. As for MK11, which we're talking about, I don't see a reason why they should be back either. Just goes against the new LK. Plus they're dead. Cyber Smoke has a bigger chance. Smoke was at least in this game and was more than a referenced cameo. He can come back next game as cyborg if he wants to. Unless K/M come back next game as human. But I don't see that being explained without sounding dumb... "Oh, so Sektor's been backed up on multiple drives?" Yeah... But Smoke really is likely to be cyborg next game. PS2 era he was human. Timeline changed. Plus it's been a long time and he could want it. It's much easier to bring back a fan favorite as a robot than to come up with a new one that would fit. Cyborg Smoke can go solo and confront the LK.

You're not making much sense.
You know how cyborgs are made, correct? Other cyborgs make them being ruled over by one grandmaster.
Sub-Zero is the grandmaster.
I don't really see a Lin Kuei full of humans saying 'Hey, let's punish Smoke by turning him cyborg and throwing him away'
I'm trying my hardest to see your point, Ice, but you're not giving any logic. You just keep saying 'He can come back as a cyborg if he wants to', but that's actually not too possible.
Maybe if you had some proof of possibility, then I could see where you're coming from.
But right now, all you keep saying is 'He can if he wants to' and 'He's likely to because of the PS2 era', but no reason, and you're not acknowledging the way people become cyborgs.

Also, why would Smoke *want* to become a cyborg? He was pretty miserable in the old timeline and it was done against his will and was against everything he stood for.

I don't think Ice is completely conscious this morning..lol. He literally is talking like londonhellgate is his teacher in what is and isn't possible.

I may be a bit tired, but I'm just trying to go by NRS " logic" logic and doing whatever they think will work and sell. If they'll want a cyborg in MK11, I think Smoke is the best bet even though we may not see a way. Popular character + variety + nostalgia = $$$. I wouldn't rule it out and tbh am expecting it. Just my feeling. But maybe Noob-Smoke makes a return. Or maybe Noob will be a cyborg. Or maybe they'll do something interesting with Kano's son. Maybe he'll run away and Tremor will become his mentor.

Aren't the possibilities exciting?
