Let's talk Cosplay.

Meh. It's okay. Would be better if it was RE2 Ada.

Rather have this girl.

She looks like a real life Rise <3

I love that cosplay, especially the wig. I have a very similar one in purple I bought from the 5Wits people at their booth last year. :D

On the subject of cosplay, someone got a tattoo of Yaya Han, and it looks awful.

Cool idea...horrible execution. Ota.

I know I've said this to Shira, but I don't know if I've posted it here or not, but I'd fvck this shit out of Nigri. However, I have a feeling she's a straight bitch in real life. I know she recently fvcked over a photographer who took her Catwoman pics. She sold prints of the picture and took off the photographers logo. She completely blacked it out. The photographer was PISSED. I wish I still had the link to the guys blog but it's long gone. I don't remember the guys name or anything. Shame on her. For real. She's still not as bad as Roseanna Rocha though. I am a fan of her page on Facebook and a few months ago she said she had fun at a con but there was way too many "Tifa's with tummies. Ew". or something really close to that. I'll have to dig it up on what she said. It actually kind of pissed me off. Who cares what you look like? Honestly. I am all for cosplaying. Whether you're a different gender, have different color skin or not as skinny. It doesn't matter. As long as the costume looks great. Then that's awesome. Even if the costume looks like shit, I'm not gonna say anything. Why? Because I'm not just a dick for being a dick sakes. There's a lot of cosplayers out there who are just starting to make costumes so they're not going to look professional or anything. And plus, I give them a hell of a lot of credit for even going to a con dressed up. They're doing more than what I have. So props to them.

On that note. The real reason I came in here is that I wanted to say that I'm joining a gym to get in shape and I want to start losing weight and start cosplaying. I want to do something simple like the main character from Soul Hackers.

Spoiler:

The outfit isn't complicated or anything at all and I think it would make a great first cosplay. The only thing is, is that I have no idea on how to make costumes. Sew or make anything out of plastic or anything. I would like to make the COMP-gun because without it, you'd pretty much would look like a normal guy and couldn't tell you were in costume lol.

This is probably the wrong place to ask, but would anyone have any tips and pointers for the COMP-gun or sewing? I just need help really lol.

On another note.

It's really sad to see that a lot of male cosplayers don't get the attention they deserve. There's a lot of amazing male cosplayers out there. The only ones I know that get attention is Harley's Joker and the guy who dresses up as Deadpool and acts like him at cons and what not.

How pro are you wanting to make the gun look? cuz if you want it super athentic looking you're gonna need a welder and that shit will be expensive.

but I think you could look into getting some sort of magnum type pistol and use a plaster mold to do the box shape thing at the end of his gun then pain it.

probably should go for plastic tbh for the entire gun. like some toy mangum or something because I haven't been to a single anime-con (I've only been to two lol)

where they weren't semi-strict about guns, if they looked "too real"

The one in Boston with Freyith the guys outside of the place made me remove my gas mask.

I was thinking of just plastic overall since it would feel more comfortable and be more durable.

Someone made a COMP-gun that looked pretty god damn legit.

I would like to make it look just like that. That one looks fantastic. I can definitely have someone make it for me. There's a guy I follow on Facebook and he is constantly doing commissions for people like making Boba Fett helmets and what not. So I'm sure making the COMP-Gun wouldn't be to big of a problem for him. It's just the cost would be the problem. I know making the clothes will be decently expensive, but I think the material for the gun would be more.

That's pretty stupid how they made you remove the gas mask. There was a anime con here back on February that I missed out on but it couldn't have been that strict because my friend went as Pyramid Head and they didn't make him remove his huge has helmet or anything.

I think it's probably because Hunk unlike Pyramid head.

looks like a One world government soldier, or a faction of some kind of terrorist group *wink wink*

I dunno, The one that was near me in Pensacola wouldn't let me bring a air-soft gun.

btw i did not know that gun opens up.

I definitely now have no idea how to tell you abut going to do that.

but you could stick an i-phone in the right, and some keyboard keys into the left ;D

Pretty much confirms what I've heard about her. As a professional photographer who works in the cosplay scene as well....fvck Jessica Nigri. I've no respect for what amounts to stealing someone's work and then turning a profit off it.

Edit:

I want to take this opportunity to actually address your second point and expand on it. I'm absolutely for greater acceptance in the cosplay community. Yaya Han's said this on numerous occasions recently, and I'm inclined to agree: the cosplay scene has changed, and not in a good way, as compared to 5-10 years ago when people her/my age started getting involved in it. Now it's much more elitist, there's body elitism, even race elitism (go find any Legend of Korra cosplay photos; you'll be disgusted by some of the things people say). Cosplay is rapidly becoming a Rich, Pretty White Girl clique. I don't like it. Most of the people I know involved in cosplay do so because they genuinely love the fandom and the challenge of making a decent costume, or just love the fun of going around in a costume at an event. These people know what it's like to be excluded, and pushed away, ostracized.

Now the 'better looking', or more advantaged (in time/money/resources) are giving the rest of us a hard time? Fvck those people.
