Hi, i'm new to this forum and pretty much just joined because i had several theories i wanted to tell you guys of and discuss
alright first i want to say that i've bought MKAK and am planning to preorder SFxT the moment i can, because I've always been a fan of Tekken ever since me and me cousin played it in Poland when i was about 8, so any game with Tekken in the name coming to PC i would get even if cost ten easy payments of four pints of my own blood
and obviously i'm going to preorder MK9 the moment i can
Now on to the rest
I think that we can be certain that MK9 is coming to PC, but I also think some other things are going on as well. A PC port has been in the talks for MK9 since the game was announced. I think however they're building up hype(more as to why a bit later) by trying to keep things secret. I think Ed Boon was posting tweeting vids like that because he can't say anything officially, and they want to build hype so he was trying to discourage hope. I can't think of another reason as to why a respected game director would be trolling so rudely a large group of his fans. then WB decided that killed too much hope and so they reported that no no it's still possible. They know that plenty of PC players want the game, so i don't think they're really struggling over that. Again i think at this point the port is guaranteed, and they're simply building up to something exciting, because rarely do developers ever do anything special for PC players, it would be a first.
the rest of this is theories i have that i think are very likely but could quickly be proven wrong, i'm sure however all of us hope i'm right:
Now qu3x posted a post a page back with several quotes coming from TF2's blog. It features a quote of the TF2 team working on SECRET PROJECT that isn't hats or maps, and the meet the pyro with LOTS OF BLOOD. Qu3x also said that he believed some kindof cross franchise was in the mix, with hats coming with the release of the PC Port. But i think it's a lot bigger than that, hats doesn't really constitute a cross franchise, after all TF2 team working on something big implies more than just hats, they do hats all the time
theories:
-My first thought was several action items released for each TF2 class that are class based fatalities. They already have taunt kills, this would just be the next step. This would be something released with meet the pyro and i'm sure with TF2 fatalities there will be lots of blood. Not too mention this in itself would blow up with the TF2 community
-Outfits. Meet the pyro might feature an MK character like scorpion (coz fire), or a class (or pyro) dressed a little bit like scorpion, in some way, you get the idea. Outfits would be new and also explosive on TF2 as an item, that changes the characters dress to look a bit more like the character the outfit is based on (they can't do it all the way to mess with character silhouettes, would mess with class recognition), and what better way to add a whole 'nother kind of item then for them to be based on some of gaming's most iconic and popular characters. Outfits would also fill the class of something big and secret that the TF2 team was working on.
-On the MK9 side, because it wouldn't be a cross-franchise without both games featuring something. I had this idea last night, and it sounds a little bit, crazy but it also makes so much sense. I'm expecting MK9 PC to feature a PC exclusive character. Consoles have had exclusive characters, exclusive features and assorted special treatment recently while PC has been getting worse and worse treatment, so to feature a PC exclusive character would no doubt increase the sales of the game by a good percentage, and would make PC players think they're much more loved. Now if you were going to add a PC exclusive character where would you start your search for the character? TF2 of course, no game is a better example and core of the PC community as a whole than TF2, if you have a decent PC, have a steam account(most PC players do), and like games you have no doubt at least played TF2 at this point, if not play it at least a little regularly (yea it is on PS3 and Xbox, but guarantee no one still plays it on there, and it's not supported at all on those consoles). And this leads me to the guy with the next meet the team. Out of all the characters in TF2, Pyro probably has the most potential, assorted normals with an axe (or other melee weapon), specials include: flamethrower, air blast (possibly used for a rush attack), flare gun, and fireball hadouken(although this would be perfect as one of his fatalities seeing as how it's a taunt kill in TF2). People would go crazy if they saw Pyro as MK9 PC exclusive character. I know i would.
and yeah Demoknight would work too.
So yeah these are my theories. These are just Theories i have concluded from what i'm reading about MK9 and TF2. To me, these make the most sense, all, some or none of these could happen.
I think that they're trying to keep the PC port on the down low, because the TF2 team and NRs are working on something big for the TF2 community. By now they know that a lot of PC gamers want this game, and Ed Boon was just trolling because he knows the moment MK9 hits PC, people are gonna be like "HAHAHA ED BOON YOU SILLY GOOSE." They're keeping thins quiet because the moment a meet the spy video comes out featuring anything that references or involves MK, and MK items are announced for TF2(especially if they involve class fatalities and/or outfits) as well as a PC exclusive character(s), ten million PC gamer minds and pants will be blown.
