The official Mortal Kombat Facebook page just posted a new event to their page called the Mortal Kombat Truck Tour. A giant Mortal Kombat Truck, pictured below, will be traveling cross country over the next two months for fans wanting to check out the new Mortal Kombat (2011) before release.

There isn't much information right now but there are dates running up to the game's release date all across the United States.

The event page says more details are coming closer to release, so stay tuned for more information! We expect this to me similar to the old Mortal Kombat 4 Road Tour and hope to have more information soon.

Kinda annoyed they aren't coming anywhere that's less than 8 hours from me. Not that I expect them to hit all the states of course, but it'd be nice if they at least stopped in a bordering state of mine. Oklahoma, Kansas, South Dakota, Colorado, Missouri, or Iowa would have all been possibilities. The closest to me is Chicago, which is 8 hours away, and it's only 3 days before the game comes out. Yeah, not worth it. With that said, it's awesome that they are doing this, very cool. I don't think this is the only announcement we are getting though, as I still have my money on a demo for PSN and XBL. The week has just begun...

Great idea for publicity, but I wish they were going somewhere by NYC or Philly so I could go. The timing is tight so it doesn't look like they will add more locations. I think a demo would have been a better idea to get it into more possible buyer's hands. Good luck to whoever's going. I couldn't imagine the mob scene and waiting time to play at one of these events.

Actually there's quite a few bigger cities near Omaha, and Omaha itself wouldn't have been a bad choice. Omaha is quite a large city, and it's in the center of the U.S...so it would be closer for more peeps to travel. Turns out 8 hours was a bit exaggerated. Chicago is 7 1/2 hours away. Minneapolis is 6 hours away. Sioux City, IA and Kansas City, MO/KS would have been big cities that wouldn't have been bad choices either. Seems like the middle and upper western states are getting the shaft. I'd be willing to drive the 6 hours for Minneapolis, but it's not really necessary given that the game comes out 2 weeks after it. Had it been one of the first 2 stops I would have considered it. It's not really that big of a deal though, if there is a demo released on XBL and PSN, everyone will get to play. Regardless, we're only a mere 7 weeks away. Not a lot of time imo.

If this is one of the big announcements, "something they never did before", I call bullshit because they did the truck tour back in the MK4 days! However, I'm glad many of you guys will have the chance to try the game, also this pretty much ends any speculation about a demo coming soon...

I would be pretty shocked myself, especially given the fact that they're skipping New York. But it looks like its pretty set in stone since they are ending the tour in chicago, the home base of NRS, on launch day (probably a huge event planned too). Wonder if they'll be giving anything special out at the tour aside from the playable build?

Over here in Florida BUT I do think it would be cool if they released a demo before release date. Either way April is almost here.

Pretty stoked about the stop in Austin. Should be able to easily spot that truck in the parking lot. Condolences to our friends elsewhere in the US and abroad who won't be able to partake. Be sad not, fellas. April 19 is still quite close.

For sure bro. I'm taking my iPod touch so I plan to record and take pictures of everything they have to show. I'm going all 3 days so I should have a lot of footage.
