Why are fatalities different when used on Kratos?

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but when you use a fatality on Kratos with some characters it is different than when you use it on anyone else, for example, Johnny Cage's second fatality when he slams the trophy on your head, when you sue it on Kratos he simply chops the head down the middle then Kratos will just fall down. When you use Cyber Sub-zero's second fatality "Brain freeze" it would normaly make th eopponent die in a funny pose, with Kratos he just falls back, When you use Stryker's second fatality, normaly the opponent would run around waving their arms in terror, with Kratos he just clenches his fist and blows up. This kind of thing happens with his Zray too, his skeleton never opens it's mouth. There were a few more weird things that happened that I can't remember, but does anyone know why? To make him look tough maybe?

I guess its their way of showing respect for Kratos; I'm sure the GOW staff didn't want Kratos to have an Emmy slammed on his head haha; but yeah, imo NRS probably did it as a show of respect.

Too ****ing bad for them. Seriously, what a childish excuse. I hope to God that isn't the reason.

Though I can understand the special treatment thing. I mean, it's just not kosher to slam a trophy down on a retard's head.

Also Mileena doesn't eat his face, I asked Rigo Cortes one time and he just said, and I quote, "It's complicated"

It probably has nothing to do with NRS Im a huge Kratos fan in GOW I think hes complete shit in this game. But hes the baddest of badasses in GOW I mean he scales giants and disembowels them and isnt afraid to die. So with some you could say of course he isnt scared he dies in every GOW and fights his way out of hell. But its prolly sony santa monica saying hey you cant take our bad ass character and make him look like a *****.

What's so disrespectful about giving the same treatment to Kratos that they do every other character? It's not like he's some sacred being - he's a fictional character like all of the others.

If JC slammed a trophy on his head, he'd come back alive, un-split his head, and take that trophy and shove it up JC's ass. Sub-Zero's brain freeze doesn't work on his mind because Kratos told Nature to get her dirty hands off the biology of his brain. He then made a similarly working brain for himself, only made of pure iron. Kratos doesn't run around like a ***** because he's probably ready for death like any other Spartan. And he grits his teeth to take the pain. These are all nuances they left, as you said, to make him look tough. Though I wish they would take away his unecessary gargly bellowing. It worked for Leonidas, but not for a high-pitched voice like Kratos'.

As someone on the wikia said "They probaly didn't have enough time to create the animations for him." I'm thinking NRS was to busy getting Skarlet ready to play that they forgot to put in special animations for Kratos. So that's why some fatalities are different.

Kratos is dumb. Such an over the top character even in GOW. I never liked him much. Wanna see a true hero? Look up Big Boss.

Exactly how I feel about Johnny 'high school cool' cage. ;-)

The REAL question here is why this thread hasn't been merged yet with the other 400 'kratos iz teh dumbness cause MK is teh coolist' threads. Truth is, respect should be paid to any franchise that didn't milk it's fans for over a decade with sub-par trash releases. :-)

i think it's more disrespectful to give kratos special treatment because he has had worse done to him.kratos wasn't needed but there he is no amount of *****ing will change it.

and i agree this is kinda bs we get it he dont belong there's nothing that will change that it's best we just accept it and move on.

if u really want to get technical rain dont belong either he wasn't made by boon or tobias. but we accept him with open arms.

I would wager that since at the time they would have approached them to make the deal, NRS had no leverage since the last few MK games were subpar to say the least. As such, they probably had to agree to whatever terms were placed upon them. I would expect that not to be the case for MK10.

lol when you perform ermac's second fatality on him he's like "Come on big boy! step on me! are you a chicken?"
Kratos is too badass to be afraid, yes he's not a good character in MK and he doesnt belong to the MK universe, but he is awesome in GOW, and he is one of my favourite characters of videogames, but not in MK of course, I'd like to remove him from my game, I dont want to fight him in ladder or fight in his arena, it pisses me off.

I agree here. I think for whatever reason they had trouble with his animations and just decided to leave it "as is".

I think its to get support from other potential companies to let their characters be DLC, some companies, like DC, dont want their characters disemboweled
