The One Being and the Elder Gods

The One Being and the Elder Gods are not separate entities. One thing that tipped me off to this is that the name 'one being' shows that there is only 'one being.' Damashi tells us in Edenia that in the timeless void there existed only the One Being and the Elder Gods. He also tells us that the One Being consumed the Elder Gods. Thus, the Elder Gods were within the One Being. They were, and still are, part of the One Being.

The Spiritual View of Monism tells us that all of Existence is One Consciousness. Shinto, the native religion of Japan, has a similar view as told in the book, “The Essence of Shinto.” There was the one original Kami (spirit/god) and all other Kami come from this Kami. The Kami created Earth and its people. People posses the ability to become Kami; and are thus children of the Kami.

A similar view is found in Hinduism wherein Brahman is the One Consciousness that all else comes from.

The concept on Monism is not just the starting point for generation. All is one and on is all. It's not just that we come from the One Consciousness, everything is constantly interconnected. A popular way of explaining this is that all the drops of water make up the Ocean, the Ocean is made up of all the drops of water. Everything is separate and connected at the same time. The Internet is the sum total of connected computers, all connected computers make up the Internet.

Thus our souls (our consciousnesses) all are separate and united at the same time. A way of visualizing this is that we are little bubbles inside of a large bubble that contains us and is made up of us. And that large bubble split us inside it; making 'separate' existence exist.

So, the Elder Gods are simply key points inside of the One Being. Another key thing to understand are the Chakras. There are seven of these in the body. They are the wheels of light/energy. They connect to the Spiritual World. They each have unique properties and when they are balanced we have good health.

The Elder Gods are the Chakras of the One Being. There are Seven of the Elder Gods. There are the six unnamed Elder Gods that created the six Kamidogu (tools of the Gods.)

But Shinnok also exists and created Shinnok's Amulet that interlocks with the Six Kamidogu the same way that the Nexus interlocks with the other Realms.

We have Seven Elder Gods, Seven Sacred Artifacts (Six Kamidogu and Shinnok's Amulet) Seven Layers of Existence (The Six Realms of Reality of Seido (Orderrealm,) Chaosrealm, Outworld, Earthrealm, Edenia, and the Netherealm. We also have the Realm of Reality of the Nexus that is a separate that interlocks with the other six Realms and correlates with Shinnok's Amulet.)

The One Being is said to have fed on the Elder Gods. The One Being, as one body, fed on (drew energy from) the Chakras. To me, it is clear that the Chakra of the One Being had become unbalanced. Perhaps this unbalance originated with Shinnok?

The unbalance inspired the Elder Gods to create the Kamidogu and rebel against their body as whole; the One Being. They split the One Being with the Kamidogu to create the Realms of Reality. Think of this as seven bubbles being created by being split off of the One Being and are now floating within the One Being. Or, perhaps, the Seven Bubbles are in a circle of six around a center Bubble that is the Nexus. They all are still connected with each other by being connected to the Nexus. Time is relative; a construct that only exists when Consciousness is separate and referencing itself. That is why the One Being and the Elder Gods were in a timeless void; but time now exists after the split.

There is a guy in Deception's Konquest (I think in Earthrealm) that mentions that everyone is part of one dream or something like that. This is true.

All the realms, and the life and people within them, are all fragments of the One Consciousness; they are all fragments of the One Being.

The Elder Gods fear the One Being for if the Kamidogu are combined, the realms and those within it would harmonize and become the One Being again. The Elder Gods seek to perpetuate this separateness that derived from the imbalance because they fear being the One Being again like they were before. Just as the many Kombatants fight for the Elder Gods as they also fear 'loosing themselves' back into the One Being.

I worship Mortal Kombat as it is a modern day 'mythology' that includes many Spiritual systems in the world. Shinto means the way of the spirits. We are each encouraged to find our own Shinto. Mortal Kombat is my Shinto.

yes and he was seperated in to the realms and that's what brought them back and the kamidogu will bring back the one being thats the whole story of mk deception.

damashi was the dragon king onaga. he tricked shujinko in to gathering the kamidogu to gain the power of the one being by the way of Quan chi's amulet.

haha, dude it's just a game hahaha.

If anything I think the Mortal Kombat team would be happy to see that I have realized what a deep 'modern mythology' they created and how much knowledge and love they clearly have for the Spiritual Traditions of the world; especially from the East.

To say that it is just a game is to ignore that every key storyline point is taken directly out of the 'mythologies' of the world. I will go into more detail here.

Mortal Kombat Deception goes into the storyline of the One Being and the Elder Gods and how the Elder Gods used the Kamidogu (tools of the gods) to shatter its on consciousness to create the realms of reality. All the beings within the realms are shattered pieces of its consciousness.

There are also seven Elder Gods. The six that made the Kamidogu and then Shinnok that made the Amulet.

It is said that the One Being consumed the Elder Gods and fed on them. This tells use that the Elder Gods were energy sources within the body of the One Being.

This leads me to correlate the seven Elder Gods as the seven Chakras of the One Being.

Sense they turned on the One Being and broke it apart, this leads me to view that there was an imbalance of the Chakras and that this hurt the entire body of the One Being. Perhaps Shinnok was the source of the imbalance? Also, I have not yet correlated the seven Elder Gods (One for Each Realm and Shinnok for the Nexus that interlocks the realms) with the seven Chakras. I would just have to look at the character of each realm as a whole as well as those within those that come from each realm to see how to match each one best with the attributes of each of the seven Chakras.

We were also told that the battle between the One Being and the Elder Gods took place in the timeless void. So the shattering of the One Being not only created the realms and those within them; but time and space.

Thus, already in the storyline from Mortal Kombat Deception, we have the Spiritual view of Monism (all existence comes from one Consciousness and that all pieces are interconnected,) and the Chakra System and what happens when all of Existence (in as above so below) becomes unbalanced.

The Elder Gods created the Mortal Kombat Tournament to keep the realms separate. This shows that the Elder Gods fear the realms being merged because if that happened they all might become the One Being again and re-consume the Elder Gods. This shows us that the Elder Gods (and many who help them) fear 'loosing' their ego and having everything 'become one' again with the One Being.

The entire Mortal Kombat Tournament is about keeping the realms separate to prevent merging with the One Being. Mortal Kombat is held one a generation between a realm that seeks to invade another. The realm that seeks to invade must win ten consecutive tournaments with the defending realm.

Mortal Kombat, as a fighting game, teaches the push and pull, Yin and Yang, of battle. All of Existence is Consciousness and all conflict is a push and pull battle of wills. Thus, personifying this as a fighting tournament makes sense to me.

The reason the number was set as high as ten, I would assume, is to prevent the likelihood of merging the realms. If a realm is fighting for its very survival; how many are going to really loose ten times in a row?

Why allow the possibility of merger when that's what you want to prevent? I think there are two potential reasons for this. One is to create a structured way for invasion; this gets those who want to invade to come out of the woodwork; that way the Elder Gods could identify and deal with them if they break the rules of Mortal Kombat. It also throws a bone to those that want to invade. If the Elder Gods simply ruled out invasion; those seeking to invade might rebel against the Elder Gods. Where if a system is in place they might see going through the system as a better path to focus their energy.

We also have a couple parallels with 'Satan/Jesus.' Where the other Elder Gods did not seek to involve themselves with the realms; Shinnok did. He wanted Earthrealm for himself and invaded it. He barred the Elder Gods from coming in and waged a way against the realm; killing the life that way there before. Earthrealm was once populated by creates like Reptile. This is a reference to the killing of the dinosaurs and that cataclysm at that time.

Only Raiden stood to fight against Shinnok. This was the storyline of "Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero" and "Mortal Kombat 4 and Gold." Shinnok raged a war against his fellow Elder Gods until he was defeated by Raiden and cast into the Neatherealm. This is a reference to Shinnok 'falling from grace' as Satan fell from grace for throwing an insurrection in Heaven. Both of them wanting to involve themselves in the affairs of mortals; both of them wanting to rule over Earth.

It is also said that Lucifer ruled the Neatherealm until Quan Chi aided Shinnok in a war against Lucifer once Shinnok got banished there. Shinnok slew Lucifer and took the thrown of the Neatherealm. This is stated in the manual for "Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero."

Raiden is symbolic of the gods who want to protect Earth here on Earth in the flesh. He is thus similar to Jesus in this way.

Spoiler Alert

In Mortal Kombat 2011 this is made even more clear. At the end of the entire story mode we see that Raiden sacrifices himself to Shao Kahn to prevent invasion and Armageddon. Raiden realizes that Shao Kahn wins the Armageddon Tournament in the Future. He kills Raiden and rules over all reality in the future. Thus the character/role of Satan is divided between Shao Kahn and Shinnok. Some Satanists divide Lucifer and Satan into different beings. One being the intellectual and one being the more fleshly. Perhaps Shinnok who slew Lucifer in Mortal Kombat is similar to Lucifer as people know him outside of Mortal Kombat whereas Shoa Kahn, the conqueror of worlds, is more similar to brute force and Satan.

Raiden sends a message to himself in the past at the time just before the events of Mortal Kombat 1992. Raiden then tries to prevent Kahn from bringing Armageddon; similar to how Jesus is to prevent Satan from ruling all.

Raiden realizes that he has to loose to Kahn during the events of Mortal Kombat 3. His last words in the message were "he must win." If Shao Kahn wins the Armageddon Tournament in the future; all is lost. But, if Kahn breaks the rules of Mortal Kombat, set down by the Elder Gods, during the events of Mortal Kombat 3 then the Elder Gods will have an opportunity to act.

Invasion of not prohibited itself, only merging the realms. This is because Mortal Kombat was not really created to protect those within the realms or stop invasion. It was created to keep the realms separate to stop the merging and thus reemergence of the One Being.

The original timeline has the Forces and Light (Raiden and his warriors) defeating Shao Kahn in Outworld before he mergers the realms. (This is the official video game storyline; the movie was off on this point and is thus not cannon.) The Elder Gods could not act against Kahn because Raiden defeated him before Kahn broke the rules.

If the Elder Gods just killed anyone they wanted, even if they didn't break the rules the Elder Gods made, then people would rebel against the Elder Gods. Also, again, the Elder Gods only say Kahn's invasion of Earthrealm and his killing of the people in it as "regrettable." They go on to explain to Raiden that the Mortal Kombat was created to stop the merging of the realms and not for other ends.

Raiden, in the new timeline, realizes that he must allow Shao Kahn to merge Earthrealm. Shoa Kahn enters Earthrealm. Raiden surrenders, as to spare Earth's people. Similar to how Jesus came to save the people of Earth. Kahn attacks Raiden and mocks the Elder Gods. Raiden screams to the Heavens, "Elder Gods, where are you, why do you forsake me?" This is paraphrasing Jesus who, when attacked for his sacrifice to save the people of Earth said, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?"

The Elder Gods then come down and empower Raiden to defeat Kahn. The Elder Gods then destroy Kahn. The invasion is very similar to what Revelations predicts in the Bible; demons coming forth into the world. Jesus is also to come and be empowered by God to defeat Satan. God then casts Satan into the Lake of Fire in Hell. Raiden had to sacrifice himself to given the Elder Gods an opportunity to act without going against their own words and rules. Just as Jesus had to sacrifice himself to give God the opportunity to act to save humanity from their sins and from Satan. Raiden is harmed by his attack, and the Elder Gods heal him. Jesus dies from his attack, and God resurrects him.

We also have the pentacle of elements. In "Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero" it shows that before Shinnok's second war against the Elder Gods in Mortal Kombat 4 that Shinnok's Amulet in guarded by four Gods. Each one is of the elements Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire. Raiden would be the fidth point; as lightening he is energy.

We also have the New World Order. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are constantly scheming. They rule behind the thrones of Shoa Kahn and Shinnok. They are constantly working with each other, through power structures, against everyone else. They are also constantly backstabbing each other. The New World Order is constantly scheming, they rule behind the thrones of governments and work with each other through power structures against everyone else as they constantly back-stab each other.

This is just the beginning of Mortal Kombat and its similarities with Spiritual Systems from East and West.

Mortal Kombat's storyline basically lifts elements of Spiritual traditions from East and West and puts them together in a creative way that resonates with modern culture.

lol i applaud your tenacious research.. But I do think that you're looking into it a bit too much. Actually WAY too much.
