Should 'God of War' Be Made Into A Movie?

I have been thinking about this for quite sometime now. Who would best portray the main character in God of War, Kratos?

Dwayne Johnson? Vin Diesel? Who else?

As for all of the mythical creatures and monsters, they all can be done using CGI mainly. Look at Narnia, they have Centaurs and Griffins etc etc. The story could closely follow the original God of War game. With God of Wra 2 due to be released very early in 2007 [much too far away Imo :lol: ] a movie could be made. Seeing as how God of War took three years to make. I would say it's safe to assume that if a movie adaptation were made, it also would take at least 3 years.

ive actually never played god of war the game, but it looks good. As for a movie, you know what happens when they try and turn video games into movies! :?

Who is Paul Le Vesque, dude? Never even heard of him before. You must play GOW and now! GOW>all!

Silent Hill is the only exception to that rule it seems.

Oh, well I don't know anything about wrestling, dude, sorry :lol:

And now I do remember him in Blade 3 Trinity, yeah. His dog had a mouth like the reaper vampires from Blade 2, remember? I dunno if he'd be suited to the role. But he's most certainly big enough. Give hima a haircut [there goes 1 million bux] and he may suit the part.

I think Triple H would be horrible in the role, Kratos looks absolutely nothing like him. Kane would be the best wrestler to fit the role, and I would say the Rock but Kratos is really white.

I see your reasoning behind not making God of War into a movie or series of films. I too absolutely love the game God of War, and would hate seeing unduly ruined. But at the same time I want to see Kratos battle the Cyclops on the big screen, fight Ares in his god like form. Slay the massive Aegean Hydra etc etc. But not at the expense of a crappy made movie adaptation destroying the reputation of one of the best games ever made for a console.

So I am now 50/50 on this idea.

I like Vin diesel, he even looks like Kratos. But that also that unfortunately doens't mean he would be good in the lead role. Maybe Dwayne Johnson [the rock] with a shaven head and some white semi-gothic makeup would better fit the role of Kratos?

Agreed, but not only that, there have been many attempts at greek mythology on the big screen and the small screen. And In my honest opinion most if not all of them suck, except the Ray Harryhausen Jason & the Argonauts from way back 1963.

For the God of War movie, I am thinking an epic obviously like gladiator or Ben Hur, Troy, that kinda scale plus all the mythologicals like in the games Age of Mythology and the upcoming title Titan Quest;

Of course special effects will be burning hot with a movie of this magnitude. It makes you wonder if the creators of God of War have indeed considered a feature length movie based on this game?

Some of the episodes were passable, and there were always hot women, so they're excused. What about Xena? I just love plutonic realtionships, lol. Xena had some good stories about Hades, the Titans and the Centaurs. So they had the right idea, just it did suck at times.

How about this guy as Kratos, huh, huh?

I took screen captures from the movie Troy and I have added a screnshot of Kratos from the game. I think this guy would be just perfect, but only if he can act.

What do you all think? Is he a potential Kratos or not?

Haha he sorta does look like him. i still needa play the game but form what i've herd it sounds great. the movie could be done imo, but i would b worryed about the ppl who make it will screw it up somehow, like most game/comic movies.

Indeed, dude.

Many many video games to movie adaptations have Imo failed miserably. I don't know what compells me to even think that they would make a God of War movie, I guess I love the game so much that I am hoping.

I liked Hercules for several seasons, it just got crappy the later it went on. And Xena I really liked.
