<a href="http://www.spiketv.com">Spike TV</a> has announced today that its <b>Video Game Awards 2005</b> will be hosted by actor and producer Samuel L. Jackson, who was a winner at last year’s show for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The show itself tapes on Friday, November 18 at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles with the two-hour "games vs. games" extravaganza premiering on Spike TV Saturday, December 10.
In this year's <b>Best Fighting Game</b> category, <a href="http://www.trmk.org/games/mksm/">Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks</a> (Midway) has been nominated along with the following contenders: Fight Night Round 2 (Electronic Arts), Soul Calibur III (Namco Hometek Inc.), Tekken 5 (Namco Hometek Inc.), and Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower (Capcom).
