Shao Kahn interactive statue in Krypt -- what is it?

He's standing there, all imperious, and the A-button prompt appears, but the message reads: "Nothing can be done here at this time".

What is this? I think I've unlocked all the Krypt crap, so what is this seemingly interactive Kahn statue about? Could this be where the Shao Kahn DLC character unlock will become available?? :hail:
 
Where is this other Kahn statue you're talking about?

Maybe Shao Kahn is the unlockable character above Kotal. Two emperors together? #Konspiracy

That's a glitch, and it can happen with the other weapon slot points. If you're talking about that statue then you're just grasping at straws.

Is there another statue you can interact with?

Why is it intentional for it to sometimes be accessible, sometimes not? I've had that 'can't be done at this time' message before, then gone back a minute or two later and been able to enter the room.

What makes you think it's not a glitch? What are you expecting?

Because why the hell would they put in a message "Nothing can be done here at this time" if it was a glitch?

No idea, but I am not expecting there to be any other explanation. Whatever you are expecting, prepare to be disappointed.

I'm not expecting anything, I don't know why you keep saying that. The other posters have already explained that you have to wait until a certain time to access the room. I'm trying to explain to you that it's not a glitch, and that it's intentional. The krypt is supposed to be a puzzle.

You're contradicting yourself here. You say you're not expecting anything, then say that the Krypt is a puzzle and there must be a reason for that room not being accessible at certain times, thereby directly suggesting that you are indeed expecting something to happen; something we're currently not seeing.

You may be right, but I doubt it. Let's play Devil's Advocate a moment -- if there is something missing, and this is indeed part of some cryptic puzzle, what do you think it could be? What are the other pieces of the puzzle?
 
I don't think there needs to be? It's like the chests that only appear at a specific time. The fact that you need to wait is the puzzle in and of itself.

I guess you misunderstood me. I believe that the "Nothing can be done here at this time" is there to throw players off, and subsequently for them to go search around for something to access it. The krypt is a puzzle to players who do not use a guide to find everything.

Even though I doubt he's DLC I do think it'd be kinda cool if they did another Kombat pack and included both Shao Khan and Shang Tsung. If they included both of them as well as Smoke and Rain I think it would be awesome.
 
Ah... okay. It is a path to the "Hidden Mausoleum"... sadly. But given all the Kahn iconography, perhaps it is hinting at a surprise reappearance of the great man! :marchmellow:

However, there is another thing: Why can I not access this vanishing chest? -

It's to the right of screen (left of Kahn's statue) and keeps appearing and disappearing, but without any way to open it...! :???:

PS:
How do I unlock Kitana's 4th outfit (from the top down in Kollection menu), the one with the "???" next to it instead of a name? More DLC...?
