LIU KANG fighting style

I wonder what liu kang's look and fighting style will be like. will it be more like a bruce lee type fighting style or more like mk2 or 3. I thought a bruce lee fighting style would be perfect for this game - i.e. quick, sharp, powerful controlled attacks. What do you guys think? also kabal and baraka's
 
easy answer,,LIU Kang is liu kang he has his own fighting style,,hell still throw fierballls,,and bike kick dont worry his moves will stay in the game am sir

Naw, I think Liu Kang is going to be totally different that we've seen him before. I think he'll be darker and grittier.... dare I say.... evil? Maybe not that far, but borderline. Remember how Boon and Co. said things would be different, but so far everything has been pretty much the same? Oddly, the Grand Champion (before Raiden turned back time) has yet to be revealed. Do you think that's a coincidence? I think not. If NRS went with a big time personality shift with Liu, they wouldn't want to reveal him too soon, that'd spoil the fun!

Yeah I don't think the (dark) Zombie Liu or the Dark Raiden were to big of a hit.

I do agree with Shawn though, that something about Liu Kang has to change. Not sure if it will have to be his fighting style though. I would much prefer to have a quick and agile version of him in the game.
 
Liu Kang is basically guaranteed to have a Bruce Lee-like fighting style.

As far as Baraka goes...they need to make him brutal like a savage.

Kabal is probably going to rely on speed.
 
Liu Kang definitely needs a Jeet Kune Do type fighting style, completed with the screams haha! But seriously he does need to be more dark and brutal. The whole goody goody shit weve seen so far is getting really old and is sort of making him look like a pussy IMO.
 
like Taj said he needs to have a jeet kune do fighting style and his Gobbles. I think he should still be a nice guy but will kill when needed to instead of showing mercy
 
Everyone saying that "Kang was a pussy" or "needs to be darker" need to re-evaluate their perceptions.

We have a large enough range of "dark" and "gritty" anti-heroes as it is. One main reason people don't like Kang's character is because they didn't bother know his character. Liu Kang is like the Batman of Dark Knight that no one dares to appreciate or understand... that in which is a symbol of absolute principle. Kang is a Shaolin that never disrupts his moral framework and maintains spiritual discipline no matter what. The very fact that he sticks with it to the very end is interesting in itself. It's a shame people do not see this or appreciate it for what it is.

What has always separated Kang from everyone else was that he was above everyone else and their brutal nature. He was the only fighter in MK1 and 2 that could perform a "deathless fatality" where he simply flip kicks and uppercuts you. I know a lot of the mindless gore fans wouldn't appreciate that, but it's a symbolic representation of his character and taking that away from him would be a mistake.
 
i will only take Liu seriously once he stops screaming "Wtatatastashahwaw" everytime he bycicle kicks someone :p

His MK3 style was the Bruce Lee thing basically. Jeet Koon Do stance with appropriate strikes. In a way, and I don't know if this is intentional, but Liu's special attacks even follow the style's philosophies. All his moves are direct, straight forward, and meant to intercept slower attacks. Nothing indirect, all attacks moving straight forward for quick, hard strikes, low on defense.
 
Well, JC already has Jeet-Kune-Do, Bruce-Lee's stance
And Kung Lao has Wing Chung, which was Yip Man's fighting style a.k.a. Bruce's mentor


Maybe a Karate stance...
 
Well, since Johnny Cage already has Bruce Lee's fighting style, he should have his own. Liu Kang shouldn't be darker nor evil, it will take away what Liu Kang really is, a Shaolin and a hero. He should not be evil or dark. He should stick to what he is now. Cause like I said before, you sure would be pissed as hell if your character was changed up. Liu Kang needs to stay how he is and was in MK1.



And if you haven't posted anything and you are thinking about it, please don't come in being disrespectful like these two down here. We are talking about his stance, not critzing him. Real talk dudes.

nah not karate only because karate is a Japanese and Korean style not a Chinese style. if NRS were to change it I would want to see a different form of kung fu

Lui Kang is the perfect canidate to use Bruce Lee's style. But i would like LK a tad bit more if he was just alil more brutal this game.
