I was looking at Mileena's vignette and it seems like they haven't fixed Kitana's hair, it looks very stiff, like if she had a pony tail, I really wish they either change it into a pony tail or make it look a lot more natural...

Whatcha think?

Gah, Kitana is perfect... I can't see nothing wrong with the Princess.

...Ok, I voted for "Focus on her hair a little bit and make it look more natural !".

I honestly can't see this "hair thing" as a problem. It's a Mortal Kombat game.
For instance, I doubt someone could stand a chance against Scorpion's wrath, or Kung Lao's hat move, moving at full speed.

They need to work on it a bit. But I'm so used to seeing poor hair effects in video games that it really hasn't bothered me all that much.

There are a LOT of things that need to be fixed in MK 2011. But the Unreal 3 engine's bright and shiny exterior blinds many eyes to the multitudes of glaring graphical imperfections in this game. I have a very bad feeling that the game will disappoint on many levels that will only be seen when the game is finally played. I have a very ill feeling that the past will come back to haunt this game as well and the cracks in the armor will start to show through after the " OMG it's Mortal Kombat and it has boobs and blood " wears off. I wish the license was sold to WB and developed by an underground or up and coming IP developer and that the old team was left out of it. I think then we would truly see an amazing title that was a next-gen Mortal Kombat.

- Kitana's Hair
- All characters are using the same body model with different clothing on.
- All fatalities are just dismemberments.
- Squar-ish blocky animation is still present (check out Mileena's double leg kick to the chest move, or Scorpion's Air Spear)
- No puncture wound damage from x-ray moves or fatalities (see Johnny Cage's glasses stay on his face after getting his eyes poked out by Reptile, or watch the completely unmarred abdomen of the opponent when reptile thrusts his ****ing arm into them to pull their stomach out)

Either way, I just get less excited the more I see of the game as it starts to look like all the other half-assed MK games since UMK3. It will be great if, in the end, I have to eat my words and all this doubt is washed away and found to be untrue, but with Boon's George Lucas-like track record I'm not holding my breath. Sigh, at least MK HD Arcade is still a possibility. :) I've cancelled my reserve on MK 2011 and am going to rent it first. Don't want to waste $60.00 if the game turns out to be just like the others. Damn I'm bummed.

Unreal doesn't do hair perfect, so for females you'll see things like pony tails, etc. It's getting better but don't expect free flowing hair anytime soon.

As far as "All characters are using the same body model with different clothing on" This is very much not the case here, everyone has custom models in the game, even more detailed than in MKvsDC.

The effects and things this game does is far and above what the limited graphics of what UMK3 was, very much not a half assed approach. Sure it's not a PERFECT game, no games are. If any game was perfect, you'd never need a sequel. This is in my opinion the best game since UMK3. It is also by far the best game using a 3D engine. They only continue to get better each time around.

But I guess haters gotta complain and nit-pick about something.

You're too funny!

You mean to tell me that these are all custom models, but just happen to have the same exact leg shape, length, and boots on?

Of course the game has better 'effects' than UMK3. Goddamn anyone can see that the 'sparklies' and blood effects are better than the 2d games. However, after beautifully animated games like the Soul Calibur series and Street Fighter reboot, some of the robotic movements of the characters in MK 2011 look ridiculous.

If hater's gotta hate then fanboys gotta flame I guess. ;)

^owned.

But yeah, MK hair has pretty much always sucked. The best hair in a fighting game that I have personally seen, is Dead or Alive 4. There could be a better game out there, but this is just what I have seen myself. It's not perfect, but it does perform like real hair and look better than MK9's.

How are those the same? Outside of the fact that they're wearing heels....

Well, let's remember that this is a videogame, not a movie. I know that graphics are important, but a videogame would look weird if they were perfect as humans... but yeah, the only complain I have is her hair.

Their legs look kinda different to me... Mileena has the smallest foot, and Sindel the largest lol :p

Ya, I think Mileena's ankle is just a smidge wider and Kitana's kneecap pokes out just a little bit more.

Also, I think the Agent Smith on the left has darker glasses than the one in the middle. And the Agent Smith on the right has an extra wrinkle on his left cheek.

I also don't like how Kitana and Sonya wear the same perfume...

I mean, c'mon now what's up with that? They should smell completely different!

For the sake of argument. I was, and am, and forever will be completely wrong about anything concerning MK 2011. This game is just Mary Poppins! Practically Perfect in Every Way! Including Kitana's black head squid!

My apologies guys. :)

As sad as this is I actually agree with you

For myself the Fatalities and Music r VERY disappointing and the game just doesn't seem to have that polish the other games in the series had the animation is also very bad this is something the series has been suffering from for a while now.

I mean wasn't it ED that was bragging that every character in the game is modeled with a heart, liver, intestines etc If so then lets see some action
