There are a LOT of things that need to be fixed in MK 2011. But the Unreal 3 engine's bright and shiny exterior blinds many eyes to the multitudes of glaring graphical imperfections in this game. I have a very bad feeling that the game will disappoint on many levels that will only be seen when the game is finally played. I have a very ill feeling that the past will come back to haunt this game as well and the cracks in the armor will start to show through after the " OMG it's Mortal Kombat and it has boobs and blood " wears off. I wish the license was sold to WB and developed by an underground or up and coming IP developer and that the old team was left out of it. I think then we would truly see an amazing title that was a next-gen Mortal Kombat.
- Kitana's Hair
- All characters are using the same body model with different clothing on.
- All fatalities are just dismemberments.
- Squar-ish blocky animation is still present (check out Mileena's double leg kick to the chest move, or Scorpion's Air Spear)
- No puncture wound damage from x-ray moves or fatalities (see Johnny Cage's glasses stay on his face after getting his eyes poked out by Reptile, or watch the completely unmarred abdomen of the opponent when reptile thrusts his ****ing arm into them to pull their stomach out)
Either way, I just get less excited the more I see of the game as it starts to look like all the other half-assed MK games since UMK3. It will be great if, in the end, I have to eat my words and all this doubt is washed away and found to be untrue, but with Boon's George Lucas-like track record I'm not holding my breath. Sigh, at least MK HD Arcade is still a possibility.

I've cancelled my reserve on MK 2011 and am going to rent it first. Don't want to waste $60.00 if the game turns out to be just like the others. Damn I'm bummed.
