Female faces in MKX

I posted this in the media thread, but thought it could be interesting to make a thread of it.

As we all know, the MK team have struggled with making female faces since they went 3D in graphics.
However, I think they have improved ALOT in MKX. See for yourself:

Looks tons better than MK9. Looks feminine.

She looked really odd in the early builds of the game, but her latest look is feminine.

Despite being a bug-lady, her face has always been feminine looking.

Unfortunate shot of Cassie (she looks rather derpy), but Jacqui looks good and has a feminine face.

She has a strong jaw, which is not unusual for women, and otherwise looks feminine.

I wouldn't say any of these real-life women with strong jaws have man-faces or are ugly.

NRS have indeed improved on how to make female faces, imo.

I think that Jacqui is the best looking one so far. But Sonya doesn't look too bad either.

Kitana looks like she can chew diamonds with her jaw tho. Ugly ass Mrs. Potato head lookin broad.
 
i'm not beign biased but Cassie looks the best now.i'm glad they look better . [MENTION=18014]theincubuslord[/MENTION] your avatar is not a good look for Tanya, looks like a drag,it's creepy as hell.

Some. Harley and Killer Frost looked fine.

Cassie - great.

Sonya - good-to-great.

Kitana - it's been a couple of builds since we saw her face, I'll say somewhere between OK-to-good for what we had (only because I would expect Kitana to be the drop dead gorgeous beauty of the cast).

Mileena - great! Big fan.

D'Vorah - good.

Jacqui - I'm not a fan, actually. Her face doesn't stand out. It's not awful by any means, especially not by previous MK game standards, just very forgettable.

Tanya - keep working, NRS, keep working.
 
Why do people insist on mentioning & complaining about this particular 'issue'? I don't see anyone complaining about Kung Jin (who appears to have an extra chromosome); rather sexist if you ask me.
 
I don't understand why it's important to have some kind of a "pretty face" in a game where the main point is to break someone's bones and rip a head out. Even if that would be the case, none of them have it. Well, safe for Jacqui I guess.
The thing NRS should've concentrated on is to make females look not "like women", but I don't know...actual fighters? In their vocabulary "women like women" means make all females literally smaller in all departments, including almost no visible difference in height, long necks and the same scrawny build. The funny thing is when they were talking about "realistic proportions" regarding females as if it's some kind of a huge accomplishment, it's actually the males who got the most work done. Yeah they look like bodybuilders, but AT LEAST they all look different. A big improvement from MK9.
Costumes could use some work too. While Jacqui, Sonya and Cassie nailed it, WTF is Kitana wearing as her primary? Is that supposed to be threatening, "realistic" or "sexay"? Because it doesn't fit any of these categories. Her secondary from concept arts doesn't look any better too.

Cassie and Kitana looked like crap before, but now they're better. The best one IMO is Sonya, she DOES look very pretty!

Tanya is... ughrrr... let's hope for the best, I really don't understand the people NRS has with female faces...

Would you call it attractive? Because apparently every single woman in Mortal Kombat should be attractive, otherwise she is considered a transvestite or labelled as unfeminine.

The problem with female faces is not that they are not attractive, but they are simply NOT female-looking. I would be okay with a not-so-attractive female if she did look like a woman. Tanya, for instance, that is not a woman, sorry. (S)he does looking like a man with boobs. Even females with strong jaws are beautiful, so that's not even the point. Remember Cassie before? She looked ridiculous.

Please define 'female-looking', because I consider personal appearance & physical traits to be rather subjective.
