Let's talk Cosplay.

On another note.

It's really sad to see that a lot of male cosplayers don't get the attention they deserve. There's a lot of amazing male cosplayers out there. The only ones I know that get attention is Harley's Joker and the guy who dresses up as Deadpool and acts like him at cons and what not.

We actually have a Toronto Batman who is fairly popular here.

Pretty much confirms what I've heard about her. As a professional photographer who works in the cosplay scene as well....fvck Jessica Nigri. I've no respect for what amounts to stealing someone's work and then turning a profit off it.

I know she's taken the print off of her store. I looked at her store and it wasn't there.

Just in general, I don't like her. Her costumes are fine, but I don't like how she's gotta slutty it up. My 2nd favorite cosplayer, Electric Lady did a photoshoot with Nigri a few years back. Nigri was Panty and Electric Lady was Stocking. I knew they didn't get along after that but I actually ended up sending her a private message on Facebook a few weeks back asking why they didn't get along. I'm not gonna post everything she said but to sum it up. Nigri wasn't thankful of Electric Lady making her [Nigri's] Panty costume and wanted to have more fan service to it (show more tits and ass) and Electric Lady didn't like that at all and said no and so Nigri didn't want to work with her anymore. Which not just being a kiss ass to EL, but I wouldn't want to work with someone and make something that I personally made more sluttier just to get more likes. Because the more likes that Nigri gets, means the more prints she sells and the more prints that Nigri sells, the more money she gets.

EL rarely sells prints I know she brings a few to a con and she'll put the rest up on her store and that's it. I've been meaning to get one of her left over Lilith (Darkstalkers) prints because she makes a perfect Lilith, but I bought a print from my favorite cosplayer, Destiny Nickelsen instead because she's a good friend of mine.

Anyways. I just don't like how Nigri really does her stuff all in all. I don't need fanservice. I like a shit load of cosplay pages on Facebook. Half my newsfeed is cosplay stuff, but Nigri's stands out, in a bad way.

That's pretty cool. I just don't see many male cosplayers getting attention like Nigri, Yaya Han or Vampy Bit Me does. I've seen a shit load of great male cosplayer, but their Facebook pages have next to nothing because they don't get shared and appreciated as much as female cosplayers do. I mean, I know why and that's because most people want to see a girl dressed up and not a guy, but still. I appreciate the dedication and hard work people put into their costume. Male or female, hot or not.

I think it's probably because Hunk unlike Pyramid head.

looks like a One world government soldier, or a faction of some kind of terrorist group *wink wink*

I dunno, The one that was near me in Pensacola wouldn't let me bring a air-soft gun.

btw i did not know that gun opens up.

I definitely now have no idea how to tell you abut going to do that.

but you could stick an i-phone in the right, and some keyboard keys into the left ;D

Yeah I forgot to mention it opens up lol. If I get one made, I'll have it open the whole time. It looks cooler open than closed.

It makes sense I guess about the gas mask, but the airsoft thing is bullshit. For real.

I'm completely exhausted right now, Nem, so my response is essentially, "I'm not surprised in the least", and "I wholeheartedly agree".

Totally agree, it sucks, but, tits will always get the most attention, lol.

Harley's Joker is awesome, though, that guy lives an awesome life. His GF dresses up as Harley now.

Like, tell me what the deal is with this? This is Stella Chu and her friend (whose name I can't recall) doing a 'cosplay-related' shoot (on a private yacht, I might add; aren't we fancy?) in bikinis. Yeah, I get it; you're also a burlesque performer. But, at the same time, what the fvck does this have to do with anything?

Is it just an excuse to show off your body and get likes? 'Cause I'm not seeing the other reasons. I'd be more forgiving perhaps if her friend, who is wearing half of her Yoko (Gurren Lagan) bikini cosplay, but nothing else is related. I think most of these 'professionals' simply wish there was an idol culture here in the US like in Japan, because they want to live the idol lifestyle. The geek/cosplay community just happens to be a convenient avenue to achieve that. The net result is more body image marginalization and continued oversexualization of cosplay. It's already awesome that if you tell someone you're involved with cosplay, they assume it's a 'kink' thing. >.>

Been looking for a few places where I can either update my Cobra Commander costume, get a new costume to modify, or even start from scratch and get a more professional look to it.
I'm not 100% sure what type of uniform I should start checking out at Salvation Army stores.
I could find that type of uniform jacket and pants and I'm not 100% sure if the civil war era uniforms are what resemble it the best.

I saw some costumes online which start at about $150+, and I'm not sure if to go with that and modify it, or to just start from scratch.
Some of the more professional looking Cobra Commander helmets also go for about $125 from what I've seen online, and I was wondering if you guys knew of places which would do similar style helmets for less or at a good price.

1. Learn to sew. I'm not being sarcastic or mean, I'm just saying. It'll benefit you in the long-run to make your own costumes from scratch. You can do it.
2. Modify an open-faced motorcycle helmet; layer wonderflex or worbia over it using a heat gun, and then make the facemask as an attachment to the front.

I know how to sew.
In middle school I took home economics, mostly because I wanted to cook stuff.
Making the whole thing from scratch is a huge undertaking though, considering that I'm not really a tailor or costume designer, and it isn't my expertise.
I know basic sewing and can fix holes in pants or shirts.
I may be able to do my own Cobra Hood, but that would probably be the extent of my sewing skills.

I've taken a look at some motorcycle helmets, but they look really bulky, and I don't know how to work with wonderflex or worbia, much less where to even look for it.

Really starting to like Ivy Doomkitty, for obvious reasons that she's beautiful, and well...you know those other traits of hers.

She's also really cool and kind just like Su-Wan and Domjiji.

I pre-ordered her limited edition calendar, and since I was one of the first 200, I'm receiving a free print as well.

My goal is that for my college dorm room I'll have that calendar and posters of Su-Wan, Destiny Nickelson, and Nicole Marie Jean.

They're all my favorite cosplayers with Su-Wan being my absolute fave, since she's not only perfect, but the first cosplayer I actually followed.

Is this it?
The lotion is in my hand ready to go

No. This is her.

Unfortunately for you and the rest of the world. I have dibs on her. I've had dibs on her since 2011 when she cosplayed 2 of the sexiest things she possibly could have for me.

Spoiler:

Elizabeth from Persona 3 (this pic is also my phone wallpaper)

AAAAAAAANNNNNDDD

Spoiler:

I have a thing for Lilith.

She's mine and none of you guys (or girls) can have her.

EVA_cosplay_3_by_onpaperwings.jpg

I never understood why EVA was always trying to be naked in MGS3. but I'm okay with it.

That cosplayer is Precious Cosplay. I have her on my PS3 friends list because me and her got into a HUGE 50+ comment chat on Dragon Age and Blade Runner awhile back. She's a pretty cool chick who does a fantastic Eva, FemShep, Pris (Bladerunner <3), Laughing Octopus and a fem-Ninja Raiden.
