Tanya in MKX?

I like the overall look of Tanya. Don't care about what skin color she has. Her face looks fine, but there can be some improvements. What I really don't like are those cross eyes, but I'm sure she's still a work in progress, so they'll fix that. Her costume looks good. Overall, me likey.

I have to admit, her face still looks very manly! I hope NRS softens it a bit more. At least she should look similar to Rihanna.

Am I the only one who doesn't see much of a difference in skin colour?

Pacific Islander native, e.g. Samoan are black or mixed with black.
No and yes. Southern Pacific natives are actually Australoid humans, different from the Negroid ones from Africa. The natives have extremely dark skins as Africans, true, but do not have African ancestry, nor are mixed as such. You can tell by their skulls, the differences are very obvious. You can find in some islands in Melanesia, dark skinned natives with natural blonde and red hairs too. They weren't "mixed" with Europeans, those are genes that only exist in that part of the world.

If you use "black" as = African ancestry, then Samoan people are not black in that sense, they are black because they have some of the darkest skin colours in the world, but their ancestry is 100% Oceanic.

To be fair, something about the skin is off if it's the main thing everybody is talking about. Looking at her Deception render, her skin is very caramel or bronzed, whereas the trailer makes her look like she's spent a week in Spain and got herself a bit of glow lol. Not even that but her lips are thinner and her nose is rounder. Bottom line is - She doesn't even look like the Tanya everybody remembers. Had it not said at the end that it was Tanya, would anybody honestly have thought "oh I wonder if that's Tanya" aside from her wearing yellow? I'd love to see artwork they have planned for her

They have African ancestry.
We all have African ancestry, even the palest people in Finland have African ancestry. That wasn't what I meant sorry. I meant is that Oceanic people (Southern Pacific islands) are not "African" per se or mixed with Africans with recent events such as colonialism. This is a fact, those people were there looong before Europeans even dared to cross the sea and take slaves with them. Now, obviously, like every part of the world, you will find people mixed with Europeans, Africans, Asians and so on...

Tanya is very sexy in Deception even though they didn't make her show too much skin. Her top in X is strange, but passable, I just feel long hair fits her much better. If I knew for sure DLC character had alternate costume, I wouldn't worry too much.

One good thing: she has no longer white eyes (which was beyond ridiculous).
